HOW TO FIX ERROR 7 PROBLEM!
This problem is quite common on these machines, especially just after the machine has been moved. As a previous poster has said, Err 7 is a motor error. It is usually because the electrical connector has become detatched from the motor. Here is how to fix it.

Hi, I had an error 7 and fixed it myself. In my case one of the two carbon brushes in the motor had seized and needed replacing. This as it turns out is EASY to fix. Here's how.
Unplug the power cord.
Place a bowl on the floor and put the waste pipe into it keeping the pipe low to drain out as much water as possible. Then replace the bowl with a frying pan or something similar as it's lower and you can get more out.
Lay the machine on its side. It's heavy so take care. You may need to disconnect the water pipe. Isolate the supply first if you do.
Underneath the drum you should be able to see the motor. On the side closest to the front of the machine are the two brushes. They are housed in red plastic and have a lead connected via a spade connector. Pull the leads off using long nosed pliers if you have them. Each brush is held in place by two Philips screws. Take the screws out and inspect the brushes.
The brushes should have a smooth surface and spring easily in and out of the red housing, protruding about 1.5cm or so. One of mine was jammed up inside the housing.
If they are damaged or badly worn then replace them both as a pair.
I got mine from ebay from a supplier called suds dash online. The pair cost 15.94 including postage and arrived the day after I ordered them!

Ive repaired loads of these and i know this an old topic but it may prove to be of use to someone . These machines or a good number of them have a small resin encased circuit board screwed to the top upper rear left corner of the inside of the machine .
This board has protruding from it a choke ( looks like a metal polo mint with wire wound round it ) due to a bad bit of design this choke rubs on the inside of the cabinet of the machine wearing away the wire when the wire breaks instant error 7 .
solution remove board remove resin bonding board to case remove single phillips head screw securing board to case unsolder the two conections to the choke and replace choke. a suitable choke can be found for a couple of pounds at the likes of maplin .
