Here's the "end-all / beat-all" solution to this issue:

Do a FACTORY RESET on the router. Grab a normal pen / pencil / very small "phillips" type screwdriver. On the back of the unit, there will either be a hole where you can press and hold down a reset button.. or some of the newer models will have a normal button sticking out a bit..

The proper procedure:

1.) Whichever the type of reset button.. with the router still on, press and HOLD the reset button.. count to 30 SLOWLY (saying "one one-thousand, two one-thousand").. while STILL HOLDING DOWN THE RESET BUTTON with your free hand, unplug the power cord..

2.) While STILL HOLDING DOWN THE RESET BUTTON, repeat your slow count to 30... once you reach 30, (again with your free hand) plug the power cord back in... KEEP HOLDING DOWN THE RESET BUTTON!!

3.) While still holding down the reset button and with the power cord plugged back in, REPEAT the "slow 30-count" A THIRD TIME.

Once you reach "30", you can now release your "death press" on the reset button. You may see some lights blinking, cycling, etc. Once all the lights appear to be a solid green which should be, the router should be fully reset back to factory settings, thus also resetting the password back to factory settings.

Most manufacturers' username and password are similar to the following:

PASSWORD: password

If those don't work, do a google search on the brand and full model number of your router followed by the words "factory default passowrds". You will find a few websites with common default usernames and passwords for just about every router in existence.

First SSID(Service Set IDentifier) is what Identifies your WLAN network. When you add a router, you establish a WLAN. Each item you connect to your router must use the same SSID. You will be asked to make a unique network name, when you set up your router. This will be the SSID of your network. If you go online for you router menu, you should be able to find that information in you configuration menu. NOT to be confused with the IP address of your computer.

Don't understand how to set password. please help

Plug the router into the power socket and configure you own machine to obtain IP address automatically. Load up Internet explorer and type in http:/ which is the local address of your router. You should then get a password screen. Enter default user name and password and it will take you to the configuration screen. The full IP address and user name and password are dependant on which model you have. See list below From there you need to read the instructions very carefully and match it with the information provided by your ISP.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe

Can't get login asus wl-520gu page when i type in http 192168

Hi there,

Try using to get to the log in page of your router. The username should be: admin and password is either: admin or (no password). If this does not work, there is a reset button located on the back of your router, press this button and hold it for about 10 seconds while the unit is on, then try going to that address again.

If this still does not work, look on the bottom of your router or on the box which your router came in or the manual that came with the router. Check that you are trying to go to the correct IP Address. It should be located on the router itself, although, the standard IP Address for most routers is

Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day and please remember to rate this solution.
