Do a reset on the print server. To do this, hold in the reset button on the back, unplug, then plug in and continue to hold for 10 seconds. Your setup should now detect the print server

SOURCE: No connection with wireless router

Have you tried using an ethernet cable instead of a USB cable? USB connections for internet traffic aren't always the best.
If you can make the change to ethernet and then open your command prompt and type ipconfig /all and tell me what ipaddress, subnet mask, and default gateway it says.

How to setup up for repeater mode

This particular Hawking device must be configured after it is connected to your LAN and powered up.

Before you can do this, you will need the software from Hawking. If your devices Serial Number begins with HEMCHWREN1 use the link below"

http://hawkingtech.com/products/downloadfile/114.html

If you have a Revision 1 device with a Serial Number begins with HEMCREN1R1 use this link:

http://hawkingtech.com/products/downloadfile/117.html

Once you have the software, here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Connect the A/C power adapter to an
electrical source, and then connect it to the
'Power' socket of the Range Extender.
  2. Connect your Range Extender to a LAN
port on the Router or AP that you would
like to extend (repeat) the range on.
  3. Connect your PC to any of the LAN ports
located on the back of your router/AP.
  4. Now run the appropriate program you obtained from the instructions in the beginning of the answer.

When the auto-load page appears, click the Setup Wizard option on the right and follow the Setup directions.

Scan for your Range Extender by clicking the 'Search' button. Once found, click the device to highlight it and click 'Next".

Choose a name for your Range Extender. You will use this name to identify and connect to your extended network. Optionally, you may change your login username and password. Click 'Next'.

At this point, the Setup Wizard should automatically obtain a new IP address for your Range Extender from the Router. Please wait for this IP to generate into the IP address field. Note the new IP address and click 'Next' to continue.

In the Search box, find the Wireless Network that you would like to extend. This Range Extender works best with other wireless-N networks, but also supports wireless-B and G networks as well. Select your preferred network and then click 'Next'.

For Security Settings, you must make sure that the Range Extender's security settings are identical to that of the Router/AP that is having the signal extended. If you do not know these settings please contact your network administrator.

At this point the Setup Summary displays all configured settings of the Range Extender. If the information displayed corresponds to your desired networks settings, you can go ahead and click 'SET' to apply the settings. The HWREN1 will automatically reboot. Please be patient.

More information can be obtained on the hawking site:

I have three dell computers with windows xp that i'm using a d-link 300n wireless router and d-link 300n wireless antena's on the computers. I used the setup cd's that came with the units to install...

download o2 connection manager ( it is used for the broadband dongles but you can still use for this problem ) so when you have downloaded the software install it and then start it, and make sure your wireless is switched on. now by using the o2 connection manager it will disable what ever else is controlling your wireless and o2 connection manager will be the default. you will see a blue box in the left hand corner and this will now scan for your network and obtain your ip address and connect you and stay connected until you want to disconect.

Does thies parts work togeher ?? WLI-PCI-G300N too D-LINK Router?

Hi! the buffalo wireless adapter should connect the the dlink wireless router if the driver is properly setup and configured. and u have to setup as well the dlink router, bcoz there is an option on the router - WISH (Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling) prioritizes the traffic of various wireless applications. u can find that on the setup page and select advance and u will see the option WISH.. here is a help list in order for u to setup the router using the WISH Technology-
WISH is short for Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling, a technology developed to enhance your experience of using a wireless network by prioritizing the traffic of different applications.
WISH Enable WISHEnable this option if you want to allow WISH to prioritize your traffic. Priority Classifiers HTTPAllows the router to recognize HTTP transfers for many common audio and video streams and prioritize them above other traffic. Such streams are frequently used by digital media players.Windows Media Center Enables the router to recognize certain audio and video streams generated by a Windows Media Center PC and to prioritize these above other traffic. Such streams are used by systems known as Windows Media Extenders, such as the Xbox 360. AutomaticWhen enabled, this option causes the router to automatically attempt to prioritize traffic streams that it doesn't otherwise recognize, based on the behavior that the streams exhibit. This acts to deprioritize streams that exhibit bulk transfer characteristics, such as file transfers, while leaving interactive traffic, such as gaming or VoIP, running at a normal priority. WISH Rules A WISH Rule identifies a specific message flow and assigns a priority to that flow. For most applications, the priority classifiers ensure the right priorities and specific WISH Rules are not required. WISH supports overlaps between rules. If more than one rule matches for a specific message flow, the rule with the highest priority will be used.
NameCreate a name for the rule that is meaningful to you.Priority The priority of the message flow is entered here. Four priorities are defined:
  • BK: Background (least urgent).
  • BE: Best Effort.
  • VI: Video.
  • VO: Voice (most urgent).
ProtocolThe protocol used by the messages.Host 1 IP RangeThe rule applies to a flow of messages for which one computer's IP address falls within the range set here.Host 1 Port RangeThe rule applies to a flow of messages for which host 1's port number is within the range set here.Host 2 IP RangeThe rule applies to a flow of messages for which the other computer's IP address falls within the range set here.Host 2 Port RangeThe rule applies to a flow of messages for which host 2's port number is within the range set here. This will work if you will be able to setup the router and the buffalo.. and ofcourse for best performance of this product, it is always advise by the manufacturer to use the same brand in order to work with best features, but this device will work..

Unable to get PC to recognize wireless connection with DI-624

Which is it? PC cant connect or not able to setup wireless? If the router came with a setup CD, run that from your pc... Make sure you have a crossover Cat5(ethernet) cable connected between the router and a PC just to set it up initially... within the router can enable or disable wireless function... But to really narrow your device down, i need to know the hardware revision number... its on the same label as the MAC address on the outside of your router

Frequent disconnects with wrt300n

Ok for starters this wireless technology is still in it's early stages and is being tested while wireless G is still in play. Most of the time if you continue to get kicked off or get no connection at all, this is due to firewall settings. When a device connects to a router of any kind it must send and recieve a signal. Unless you have a static address on your laptop. (an IP address you placed into your wireless adapter setting) Your IP address sometimes changes, it does this when you turn off your computer, log off, etc. Sometimes when reconnecting to your wireless network the IP address changes because it is a dynamic address. A static address never changes. I have found that with some wireless technology devices if a firewall is setup with windows XP the IP address changes thereby not allowing the device to reconnect to the network or be recognized based on the IP change. I have found this alot with wireless printers, external Network storage devices, etc. Sometimes when you take down the firewall your computer will reconnect to the network. Or just go back to the basics: Right click onto the wireless icon at the bottom right near the clock. You should have an option asking you to repair, this helps most of the time.

Most common problems with having be disconnected from your network is when you have a laptop and you use it outside of home on or in another location. Any more questions I have tons of answers. I can also walk you through a network setup!

No connectivity

the 169 address indicates you're not getting an IP address from the router.
I'd start by re-setting the router to defaults. Get it functioning with a wired connection, then do the wireless setup.
Make sure the adapter is recognized in Control panel before proceeding with the wireless setup.
