in such case you can restore your program to old date...such as 5 days before.. hope your touhpad will work like before..
restore your program to the early date from when your touchpad was working...
reinstall touchpad driver....
otherwise you have to reinstall your Operating System...

It seems to be there is pressed button and should be released.
Try with the control keys like ( Ctrl, Alt, Shift, both right and left, and Fn key ).
Press these keys hardly ( not much ) to release them,

You will need to install the touchpad driver. The native windows driver will operate the basic functions, but for scrolling etc, you need the driver from Acer (Synaptics)

If you have a external mouse, or you can borrow, go into device manager to see if the pad is enabled, if okay! try a system restore bringing the computer back in time before this happened, if still no luck the sensor pad maybe defective, the last option a complete recovery of the operational system to factory setting, this will prove if the sensor pad is defective, or wire ribbon might have come loose from the motherboard.
