Don't keep using it unless you want to get electrocuted... It is cheaper now to buy a new iron than it is to have this one repaired.

Model dx6250 just quit working while my wife was ironing. What Happened? No sparks or nothing going on cheked power cord and it gets juice to the control but nothing beyond that.

Hi rhmoreno,

The fuse in your iron might have sacrificed itself to save you and the iron. :)
Replacing the fuse with the exact same will solve your problem but for which you will have to open the iron and thoroughly scan it to find the fuse.

hope i solved your problem, if i did then please vote for me and rate for me too :)

How do you remove Torq screws that have that annoying center pin?

You Have to buy a 'security' torque set. I bought a set of security bits with 50 different types that included the one needed for the Rowenta Power Duo. It was only $9.00 at my local Harbor Freight store.

Removing deposits on iron plate

Try adding some CLR to the iron, fill it up with water, and run self clean. Then wipe bottom of iron with an old towel. Repeat with clean water in the iron, to rinse out the CLR and minerals.

Iron leaks water from the back end of the base

This problem is the way that rowenta seals the water tank. If the iron is disassembled and the seal is properly put on it will not leak,, however this seal is a silicone based product and not just an off the shelf gasket. I have sealed and repaired some using a high temp silicone

Residue on iron plate

They sell cleaner for this. Or just use very fine steel wool #000 or #0000. Only use on a stainless steel iron, not one that has non-stick coating.

Repair of Steam Iron

Hi, honestly if there is a short circuit to ground and you are trying to troubleshoot this, I would not advise you doing this (I do electronic tech/engineering everyday) and am uncomfortable doing it, as it is a shock hazard to continue using the device, especially if significant others are using the appliance. Unless I am SURE I can fix the problem AND I know how to test for circuit isolation as recommended by UL, CE and other safety governing bodies...i.e. "Know about HI POT and Leakage Testing techniques."

That said, since you have already dismantled and accessed the "guts", there is probably a fastener or moulded retainer you missed. Probably a good idea to try and locate a schematic or reverse engineer it, making sure you draw lots of assembly and disassembly diagrams as you go if you are so inclined
