Frigidaire range model lfef3011lbd burners work but oven control panel does light up

Good Afternoon Terry Fletcher, thanks for your post!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire range control panel will not light up. Sounds like a possible short within your control panel that is causing the lights to not function properly. I would recommend consulting with a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair to be completed to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Kenmore gas range when no clicking when turning the oven on

Range: Gas burner won't spark or ignite A surface burner igniter switch and a spark module activate the spark electrode when a burner is turned to the "Lite" position on a gas range's cooktop. If the surface burner switch, spark module or wiring in that circuit fails, the spark electrode won't work, and as a result the gas burner won't light. If those components work but the electrode won't spark, the problem could be that the spark electrode is coated with spilled food of is bent or broken. In addition, the electrode won't spark or ignite the burner properly if the ceramic insulation sleeve below the tip of the electrode is cracked or broken. If the gas burner isn't lighting, these repairs may help.

Replace the spark igniter electrode

1396454293470.jpg The spark igniter electrode-also called the surface burner igniter-is an insulated electrode that provides an ignition spark to light a surface gas burner. It sparks and makes a ticking sound when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the spark ignition electrode if it fails to spark or if the ceramic insulation sleeve is cracked or chipped. How to Replace a Spark Igniter Electrode in a Gas Range Find This Part

Replace the surface spark module

1377098014986.jpg The surface spark module is in the ignition circuit for the gas surface burners. When a surface burner control knob is turned to the "Lite" position, it provides voltage to the spark electrodes on the gas surface burners. If the surface spark module fails to provide the electrodes with voltage, then it should be replaced. Find This Part

Replace the spark igniter switch

1396454315355.jpg The igniter switch is an electrical switch on the stem of the gas surface burner control valve. This switch completes a circuit to the surface burner spark module, causing the burner igniters to spark when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the burner igniter switch if the burners don't spark when you turn the burner control knob to the Lite position or if igniters spark constantly even when the burner knobs are in the Off position.

I have a small, 4-burner gas stove; no wondow in the oven door. I think my stove had a mouse infestation. I think the insulation above the oven has mouse urine in it; I can smell it, although there is no...

It is common for mice to get into the oven box insulation and nest. I had this problem before and its not likely you'll be able to get rid of the odor without replacing the insulation. Another issue is any fecal matter the mice leave behind. This can become a health hazard (expecially in an appliance that you use to prepare food). I would recommend replacing the insulation. If the model oven is correct, the insulation can be purchased for around $20 at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The part number will depend upon your COMPLETE model number (located on a nameplate around the oven door opening, or lower drawer opening (if equipped). On some models, the model number will appear on the back of the operator console. The first three sites on the list include exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly indentifying any parts you may need. The insulation for the Magic Chef 31000 series is listed under the "Body" parts list.

To replace the insulation on MOST ranges, all you should have to do is lift the range top to access the oven box. The top on most ranges can be lifted by removing a series of screws that are usually holding it secure under the bottom of the front edge. You will need to open the oven door to see them. CAUTION: Do not lean on the oven door as this may cause damage to the door hinges and springs.

On the Magic Chef 31000 series, it appears that you will need to remove the burner control knobs, followed by screws holding the burner control control panel in place. You should also remove all the orifice covers and burner grates from the top of the range. Once the burner control is removed, remove the top panel, followed by the burner box top panel. The insulation will be wrapped around the oven box. It should just lift out. Depending on the potential infestation, you may want to wear a dust mask and use a vaccum to **** up any loose debris. CAUTION: Turn off the gas supply BEFORE attempting any repairs - if this is a gas range.

If you have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Igniter electrode does not light burner

As the igniters age from repeated use, they can become weak and no longer function properly. Just because they glow or spark, does not necessarily mean they are good. If you are experiencing ignition problems, the following link explains a little theory about how these igniters work and how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575727-replacing_an_oven_igniter_on_a_gas_range

The burner manifolds in the oven each use a glow bar or electrode type igniter with a gas safety valve to ignite. Both oven manifolds are controlled by the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board, which is your clock/timer on the control panel. If the surface burners work, but the oven does not, the problem is usually not a gas related issue. If the broiler is still working, more than likely, this is not a control board issue. Check the igniter connections to ensure you don't have any broken wires, first. Make sure you UNPLUG the range before servicing.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also offer helpful exploded view diagrams to help you locate and properly identify the parts you need. If the model number you have listred is correct, the bake burner igniter part number is 8191123.

If you have any questions please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

The burners work but the clock does not light up and the oven won't work either

It sounds like your Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board is defective. This is the clock/timer assembly on the operator console. The EOC controls all the features for your oven, but the surface burners work independently. So, if the surface burners still work, the oven does not and the display is not present, its time to replace the EOC. The following link explains how:

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also offer helpful exploded view diagrams to help you locate and properly identify the parts you need. The EOC will be listed under the "Control Panel" parts section as item 2. The price and part number will depend upon the last three digits of the model number.

If you have questions please post back with a complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Ovens won't work.. pilot safeties keep dying..

Hi, just wanted to ask, are you sure the safety valves are bad? seems strange that 2 would go bad like that. I have seen thermocouples ( $7 to $12 ) improperly installed, routed, not an OEM part, dirty pilots, affect them alot more often than a bad safety ($150 to $250). There is no baffle plate behind the safety, however, if mounted properly, it should be well out of any heat range that would be causing any problems. Are you sure it isn't "front venting" ? meaning the exhaust, or part of it, has to escape out of the front of the unit, causing it to overheat? this can be caused by a few things, something blocking, covering,in the flue. Your gas pressure too high, or no regulator at all, sooting, clogged orfice causing gas to burn in the burner, alignment of orfice to burner, etc.. Hope all that helps, let us know :)
