Problem for Motorola SURFboard® SB5101 Cable Modem

Trying to connect two computers through a sb5101 modem

I can connect the modem to the first computer with the usb connection. When i try to connect the second computer using the ethernet connection I'm unable to get an internet connection unless i unplug the first usb connection to the modem. according to the users manual them modem is cable of hooking up multiple computers.

maybe if u try and get two ethernet cables and connect the computers with only ethernet cables only it may work.

you cant connect usb and ethernet on that modem at the same time you have to use a router
