I haven't done one on this particular vehical but it looks like a hydraulic clutch to me. Good chance you are going to replace the slave cylander and bearing. I would since you are there. I've had slaves that come with the bearing on it. Just unbolt the slave from the trans and replace

Jeep wrangle squeals when clutch is pressed.

your throwout bearing is shot, and while your in there you should replace the clutch and pressure plate as the parts are relatively cheap but the process of dropping the transmission is rather involved. im not speculating it is definitely your throwout bearing

Bad Throwout Bearing? I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Lately when my Jeep gets warmed up it will make a teakettle whistling noise. Note: this is a 5 speed standard transmission. The sound is more...

T.O. bearings usually do not make any contact when your foot is off the clutch pedal.
So it does not sound like a T.O. bearing.
But if it were an intake manifold leak, then it would idle badly.
You should be able to find it.
Listen through a piece of rubber hose, that you move around as a probe.
But if it changes when shifting, it is not likely an intake leak.
If it goes away when the clutch is pushed in, then it is likely the transmission input bearing.
If it is loudest when the clutch is pushed it, it could be the T.O. bearing, or the input shaft pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft.

I have a 1990 jeep wrangler, the throwout bearing in the clutch has gone out for the second time. Is there a way of using the linkage from a new model to eliminate the doughnut hydraulic throwout?

try using a bearing that is in a metal casiing and not a plastic piece of junk that comes in the clutch kit nowdays ,they always end up going wrong where bearing melts the holder ,unless you can fit a thin telecamit tube and a grease nipple so clutch bearing can be greased every few months like on a good old fashioned commercial vehicle

Coolent pressurizes and comes out tank by cap this is a1990 comache jeep.I just replaced the cap and that didn't help.

You may be experiencing a pressure feed from a failing head gasket or a faulty thermostat. Try running the engine with the radiator cap off and the coolant level at full and watch for bubbles at the cap opening. If you see a large amount of bubbles this could indicate a possible escape of cylinder pressure. If you do not see any bubbleling than you should possibly change your thermostat.

Swap a manual tranny into my cherokee

I believe it does...don't forget that you need to take the pedal assembly and hydraulic system along with the trans. Unless the clutch is nearly new, I suggest that you replace it and the throwout bearing, and make sure you don't forget the pilot bearing in the rear of the crankshaft. One item I can't remember for sure but make sure the transfer case matches the trans or use the one already on it when you change them over.Same for driveshafts.
