I've been playing skyrim before with the same card and everything was fine, now that I reeinstalled windows (vista) I had problems playing Skyrim. I start playing and 5 or 10 minutes later my computer shuts down and reeboot on its own with no error message or anything

You also should change the thermal paste. If you want to play games, please choose normal PC. I think you are asking too much from your laptop.

Gateway MT6840 unexpectedly shut down and wouldn't

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Can't restart windows 7 on my dell d610, did a format on the hd, re-loaded the windows 7 disc, everything runs great until I shut it down then it won't restart

Recently a put windows 7 on my latitude d610 only problems I had were incompat. Drivers (wifi, sound, graphics.) all were fixed with googling those drivers with windows 7 because this hardware is not compatible with 7 but seeing as it is a restart thing,

Check the drivers u have installed try to see if any need updating or are no compat.

Darksiders sound but no video

Hello,
Make sure that your computer passes the minimum system requirements of the game. You can find the system requirements of the game here:

http://gamesystemrequirements.com/games.php?id=1168

If your computer passes all, you should update your video driver. It has something to do with the graphics thing. Media player has nothing to do with darksiders. Each software has it's own system requirements. Media player does not need much from your computer which is a different story when you play darksiders.

Hope this helps.

Try updating your video card drivers. However, according to the specs, it's not supported for vista.

Vista site is equally unhelpful.

Had a quick browser on the forums. Have you tried this vista dual-core patch?

Did you hook up your monitor directly to your video cards' visual port (whether it's VGA, DVI or HDMI) ?
Did you make sure the driver you downloaded are compatible with your graphics card ? with your operating system ?

Frankly, I don't have any more suggestion than looking in your graphics card's manual to check troubleshoots. They might give you an idea.

One more thing, if you time ahead of you, you might want to check if your motherboard is compatible with your graphics cards. To do that you might want to pay a visit to the almighty Google.

Good luck !

Acer aspire 5600 shut down

it sounds like the video card cannot support or handle the pressure put on it by the game you are trying to play, if it is an OEM game have a look for the minium system requirements that the game will run on, you can also find this information on line, you will probably find out that the graphics card doesn't support the game, do this check with all games you try to play
another thing is to upgrade your memory because some laptops don't have a devoted graphics card thus they are relient on the system memory

good luck
