Sears has a rebuild kit for this gun. The part number is sc15124.00 and sell for about $15. Individual parts are also available and are very inexpensive. I would certainly repair the gun. Good luck.

SOURCE: need to where to look at a manual for reassembly

Okay I finally found it. This tool was made by Black and Decker/Dewalt. They have a description online but no online manual. You will need to contact a local branch or repair center and request a parts explosion for this tool. When calling make sure that you have you exact model number available. If you have any trouble finding a center or factory branch contact me and I will locate one nearest to your location. Good luck and sorry I couldn't help with online schematics.

SOURCE: nail gun wont fire

First - the air pressure has to be high enough - check the regulator on the tank to make sure it is delivering in excess of 60-70 psi (which I am sure you have already done).

If you have dry fired these guns (i.e. shot them off with no nails in them while you were lubricating them maybe) the mechanism inside could be damaged. I had that happen to one of my nailers (same brand). That was when I learned not to dry fire them...

Since both of them are not working though I would be more inclined to look at the air supply first.

SOURCE: My Sears Craftsman 18 gauge brad nailer won't nail

Your driver is not returning. Depending on the model that you have there could be a couple of problems. The most likely is that your piston stop is crumbled and some of your seals are worn or damaged. Whether or not you can fix the nailer depends on if the parts are available from Sears Parts Dept. If you would like some more information about fixing your nailer please post which model it is that you are trying to fix and I can see if the parts are available. I will post the information back to you.

I assume you are hitting the driver square and hard. You can't baby a floor nailer. If hitting the driver is not the problem, the driver that contacts the nail could be chipped or broken. It's not unusual, especially if you've used it on hickory or maple. Compare it to a new one to see if that's the problem.

Adjust depth on pneumatic stapler

I have noticed that many nailers do not have a way to adjust the depth. Usually there is a thumb screw under the trigger or on the side of the safety foot. If no visual way to adjust, you must get creative. The bumper stops the driver at the bottom of the cylinder. Adding layer of rubber (inner tube or similar) under the bumper will cause the driver extend less and shaving the bumper will cause it to drive deeper. Another method if to add material to tip of safety to space gun away from work (less deep, using various thickness of spacers like used on flooring nailers) or grind the tip of the driver (cant reverse but if driver is too long grind away) . Buy a spare driver and make adjustment to tip for when you need different setting. Good luck

Does the campbell hausfeld model sb504000 2 inch nailer/stapler need an external air to get started?

Sb504000 works just fine with pressure range from 60 to 120 psi depending on material. Any small compressor will work great. Using the gun at max pressure will shorten the life of the gun. Best practice is to set pressure to just under 100psi for most work and increase pressure when nailing hard wood. Using at max pressure will strain the driver and the lower part of gun (screws that hold nose to body). Some hard woods will bend an 18 gauge nail. Good luck with your gun and have fun with your projects.
