SOURCE: makita 6222D hole drill bit is stuck

When this happened to me I held the shaft of the drill bit tightly with my hand and reversed the direction of drive for an instant. It released at that point. It still does that occassionally though.

SOURCE: Why doesn't my HP 1501 Makita hammer drill work

The problem was the cord at the base of the drill. The wires were broken, cause by constant bending. After souldering the wires, the drill works perfectly.

Thanks.

SOURCE: My makita drill is weak/ has no power.

did you check the battery under a load condition?as in check the voltage under drill operation, most batteries will check their normal top charge voltage when not being used, this is known as a surface charge, but under load the voltage may severly drop leading to burned or overheated armatures, have it load tested

Makita troubleshooting

The BDF452HW has a carbon brush motor - and they do eat up brushes quickly. The brush set number is CB440 - they are replaceable by removing the 2 screws on the rear cap, the connectors snap over the brush holder - take care not to bend the brush holders when changing, they are just thin brass.
If the tool is 'ticking' or 'grinding' when it spins check the condition of the armature before you install new brushes - the copper commutator should not look burnt or have raised segments - this is also a common repair on this tool. Replacing the armature is a fairly inexpensive and easy fix - you must split the entire clamshell housing to access this - be sure to fit all the components securely back into their slots or you may tear all the fan blades off the armature when you try and run it.

Makita BHP452ZW light works but no drill power

Your most likely problem is the switch (PN 650583-6). When they go bad they will let power go to the LED light but it won't get to the motor. With a multi-meter, check the power going into the switch and coming out to the motor. If 18 volts are getting through to the motor then you may have armature (PN 619198-8) issues.

Power drill got wet, won't run

Pull the motor brushes out and clean them up also take points file to the brush holders if it has them to clean them up. Not sure which model tool you have so I just gave an educated guess.

How to diagnose makita 18v impact losing power. Already replaced battery

If the battery didn't take care of the problem check the brushes next. Take the two screws out of the back cover and check both brushes (Part Number 194427-5). They should be at least 1/4" long and evenly worn, if not replace them. If they're excessively burnt or chipped and broken, check the armature before replacing them. If the commutator is damaged it will only shorten the life of the new brushes.

My makita hmo860c breaker drill has stopped working power light is on ?

I purchase a rotory hammer on ebay and it was listed as a makita, i was trying to get a spare part for it from makita. Makita cordless dril Model # 6213D 12volt.

I used to pull these drills to bits for a living and all i can say is that if the brushes are intact and not too worn then it should run fine without cleaning the brushes. chances are that the motor has worn out.
