Question about GPS
The top shelf of the stand will not reattatch with the provided suction cups. I have cleaned both contact points and tried moisture on the suction cup, neither worked. Stand is unusable because the top glass shelf will not secure.

The GPS unit comes with an adhesive disk that must be installed on the surface where you want to place the GPS unit. The suction cup will only work with this adhesive disk. Once the adhesive disk is installed, the suction cup will hold. Here's the instructions magellan web site...

you need to pull the two ears on the sides of the suction cup away from the windshield before you tighten it down. its really easy once you figure it out. hope this helps

The soft vinyl suction cup has two ears. Behind the ears are two depressions in the mount ring. The vinyl shapes itself into the depressions and forms two tiny gaps when you try to stick it to the windshield.
Place a pencil or other small round object between the ring and the soft vinyl part. Bend the vinyl outward. You may not be able to see the difference, but it should now stick
