Bought new Acer Portable model 5610. Problem is when hooking up to a secure net line I am able to download one page i.e. MSN.com and when trying to continue to another it states network is not available. However if I go on to a nonsecure network, I can stay on. Have taken to the Geek Squad at a couple of the sales places. They hadn't a clue as to the problem/solution. I do know that the LLTD Timer shows the lease on the network expires after one second. How do you change the timeing in Vista. I have searched high and low thru all the switches and can't seem to find the one which sets the timing.

While the neat operation system is good, it didn't cure the problem. I have now checked with the IT people at several places and no one seems to know how to cure the problem. Just need to patch the Register I guess, anyone know the address of LLTD Timer

PS, time to erase VISTA and go back and reload Windows xp Professional. Think MS Made a big mistake on this OS. Its cool for beginners, but hell for those with any Experience, what a waste of money that was
I presume you are using IE7,& Vista.. well this can be a nightmare for secure sites... there are many "Fixes" however I think the best "fix" is to simply download Firefox, and use that. I have found that it is simply excellent. Also Opera is another browser that simply works.. So try this as a workaround...
