Mitsubishi WD-73927 Picture Problem

My Mitsubishi 73927 has performed beautifully since I bought it a couple of years ago. Suddenly, today I turn it on, and the colors are all weird, everything is strangely "shiny" and reflective, with lots of artifacting. I've adjusted the brightness,sharpness, tints, etc. The problem remains. The lamps indicators are ok. HELP!

This is a common problem with this set. The light gun has gone out and will need to be replaced. However, don't expect the replacement to work any better. There have been reports of the replacements failing very quickly. It may take a e-design of this part to fix the problem. Check with Mitsubishi and hopefully you have an extended warranty on the set.

That pop sound was your lamp blowing up. The crackling you here now is the ballast trying to light the lamp. Replace your lamp.

Find your reciept then call mitsubishi . if you purchased it less than 3 years ago mitsubishi will pay to have the expensive light engine replaced.

If your TV is DLP , Then your Light engine is Bad,when color changes and little spots appear it is light engine.

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.
