SOURCE: JVC TV - No Pic or Sound-Blinking Red Timer Light

I believe I've answered this one or one identical to it:: If not, No sir... Nothing short... The red blinking timer light indicates the the protect circuit has it shutdown. That's happened because something has probably shorted along the B+ line. If it were here in the shop I would be checking the following: IC911 Str-G6624 regulator PC921 Tlp421 F905 5a Pico Fuse C931 160v/100uf cap and the HOT of course 2Sc2539 One or more of these parts has probably failed but usually not all of them.. So it's not an expensive repair. Now, while you're having that done also have them do the following modifications for greater reliability if it hasn't been done already: Remove D701 you don't need it. Install C705 (47uf/16v) in space provided (near Ic701 Pin 22 ) Replace jumper W122 with ferrite bead (Qqr0582-001z) Add a cap(47uf/16v)between pins 61 and 64 of Ic701 neg to pin 64 and pos to pin 61 This is per a JVC bulletin that the shop you take it to may or may not have. It's a simple and inexpensive modification and will add a measure of reliability to the years this set has left. As a footnote, take the set into the shop yourself and pick it up when it's done. This will help keep the cost down. All-in-all should be less than $150 if all the parts above got replaced. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Hope this helps Bill 360-642-4993

SOURCE: T.V WILL NOT STAY ON: JVC AV-27F702 27" TV

This sounds like a protection system cutting in. This happens if there is a major fault and continual use would lead to a fire risk.

SOURCE: blinking timer red light on jvc tv, no other functions

The TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

The AV32F713 keeps turning off. Timer light blinks. Unplugging restarts, but goes off again in 5 seconds.

If model number posted is correct (let me know if something else) the set is shutting off either because of a problem in the power supply inside or something pulling that down.

Sharp lc-32sb220u lcd tv. Green Power LED flashes steady

Okay, I found the problem. There is a problem with the
ccfl (lamp) groung PCB. Mine is completely burnt through. I am going to attempt to repair it, but will likely need to extract it from a different unit. This board is on the front right of the lx in the lamp housing behind the
lcd panel. What is happening: The inverter circuit on the power supply is detecting that one of the lamps is not lighting and it goes into shut down.

Hope this helps!

JVC AV-F29MX3 I was watching a film on my DVD connected to the TV, when suddenly the screen turns black with no sound heard. Also the front light indicating 'ON TIMER' and 'ECO' started blinking in red...

usually after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to tube ) becomes weak - then TV won't get ON.. means no picture no sound ..but LED blinks - in some TVs along with EHT 1 or 2 components like resistor, transistors, etc will also gets deffective .................. so solution is TV circuit board has to be checked to find whether only EHT is deffective or other components are also deffective.......... price of EHT will be between Rs.250 (US$ 5) to Rs.600 ( US$ 12) ........iam from bangalore ( 09986222774, sathyavijayasarathibabu@ymail.com ) .....i don't have any idea about EHT component's price & service charge in your area........this problem cannot be solved by user unless user is a technical person having idea about components (resistors, transistors,diodes,...etc..), having multimeter , soldering iron & other tools...so my suggestion call TV service engineer or contact jvc service centre.........

TV picture went out. stand by/timer light blinks when I turn on the TV. no other response from TV.

The timer light blinks representing the fault on the tv. If the tv blinks in an orderly fashion then the number of blinks before pausing is used to indicate the fault. This can only be determined by looking at the service manual for that set. If the blinking is continuous without pauses after a number of blinks, then it indicates there is a problem and the first place to look would be in the power supply. Either the power supply isnt supplying power to the Line output transformer i.e an open circuit or short circuit..OR the line output circuit has a short. Without a diagram i cannot guide you which components to check..but..swollen topped capacitors in the power supply are a give away :)

Lamp light blinking, Power Light blinking, TV off

Your description of the problem points to a power supply in the process of failing.
If it was mine, I would leave the set unplugged overnight, remove the back panel of the set, locate the power supply (likely on a separate board related to the incoming AC cable and will have larger components on it), look for an assembly number (often on a printed label), contact the manufacturer's service company and inquire about replacement or repair cost.
When you plug it back in, note whether it behaves normally at first turn-on. If is does, this tends to support the suspicion of a failing power supply since some of the passive components in it have had a chance to recover before weakening again.
Modern supplies are a good bit more efficient than 'linear' supplies of yore but are far more complex and much more dependent on quality of components.

JVC tv i'art blinking timer

It is protecting you and itself with high probability.
Power supplies in modern electronic devices are designed to cycle if there is a fault in circuitry they are servicing and because of the design, also will not turn on completely if they are failing.

The older style of power supply was 'dumb' and unable to do this so could cause fires if the failure wasn't teh 'right' kind to blow the main fuse.

I agree with the manual; this is a job for a tech.
