Light comes on, but iron will not heat up

The iron is plugged in correctly. The light come on, however the stainless steel bottom remains cold no matter how long the iron plugged in to the power outlet. The power outlet is working ok, as I am using it to charge my phone, vac, etc. Please advise what can be done to correct the problem.

No electricity is getting to the heating coil inside the iron. It has to be disassembled to find out if the heating coils are broken, or just not connected properly.

Brown muck coming out of the iron

Use CLR the r stands for rust It will descale the iron for lime while it is there. It would be better to own a quality iron that uses stainless steel or other non ferrous metal.

Iron won't come on or heat

The problem could be the power cord or the element.
Try replacing the power cord first and see what happens.

My Rowenta iron was working fine the last time I used it. I plugged it in to use it today and nothing. The little red light on top comes on but the light on the side to let me know it is ready and hot...

Yes there is a solution, I have a DG580 with the same problem. I had to replace the electric cord which cost $17.00 and took 30 min to replace and now works like brand new.

Switch light goes on when pressed but goes off if not pressed

Switch light goes on when pressed but goes off if... OR iron does not heat at all even pressing the button to turn it on continually.
Don't understand which one question you are asking
But if there is no heat at all after switching it on, it needs to go to iron heaven but be sure to cut the plug of the end, Saftey reasons at the dump. BUT if lights are coming on the iron is working. the large dial on the water filler is temperature control. Turn this around to cotton or linen.
The light will come on and off while in use, it allows you to know that the iron has cooled and is going back to your select temperature( on the large dial)

Make sure that you use water in the iron as it will aid your ironing and make it quicker. Make sure that the iron temperature dial on the water filler is at the correct temperature for the item that you are ironing.
Hope this helps

if its a light brown appering on the whites, its just to hot, lower setting. also make sure the plate is clean. the stainless changes colour from heat after a while, this is normal
