Can t smell my oil that i put in my rainmate

You can use vanilla extract or other extracts, your favorite perfume, other oils. Just not use anything with excessive chemicals, such as household products (pinesol, etc) Be sure and keep your unit clean, move stem that goes into water and use vinegar to remove any hard water deposits. It should last many years if taken care of. I am a Rainbow distributor.

I'm not sure if this will help or not. I never thought about the aromas/oils possibly being bad for any birds in the house. I ran mine in the small room I use as an office and I have a parakeet in this same room. She didn't have any ill effects from it. So I would suppose it would be okay. That or I have a tough old bird (which she is).

I have used other oil based fragrances and have had no problems.

You simply remove the spindle and wash it out, and the spin wheel too if ot gets a build up. I use an antiseptic sort of smelling scent in mine and it helps capture dust. That is part of the build uop on the spindle. Simply turn it on the spin wheel and remove it and then wash it under hot water and let the hot water course through the spindle to clean it out.

RockyNR1 is correct but let me just add that you can fill it to over the line if you want as long as the 'misting' still happens, be careful that the bowl is not near the edge of the surface as the spinning water might make it fall off the side. How long the water lasts is also very dependent on how large the room is that its in. Lastly you should be able to leave it run for 24/7

Does it do this when you DON'T add any of the fragrance oils???? If so, it's yuck from the air. BUT, the fragrance oils are OIL and they don't mix with water, so as it swirls it tries to emulsify the oils into the water and that causes it to become cloudy.
I would still clean it at least every other day....every day would be preferable....especially if you live somewhere that mold flourishes like I do (Central Texas)
