Re: remotes

When the lights are blinking like that, it's indicating the battery level, and also indicates that the wiimote is not connected to the wii. Replace the batteries in the one with the left light blinking and see what happens. Try turning off the wii, and pressing the power button on one of the wiimotes. It should turn on the wii and then the far left light will turn solid. Then press a button on the second wiimote and it should connect. If it doesn't, press home on the first wiimote, go to the settings at the bottom, and click Reconnect. Then follow the onscreen instructions and the problem should be solved. My original wii remote was working but now the lights dont come on i know the console is fine as my other remotes work fine can i repair my remote

Press a button on the Wii Remote, and if the lights blink, but don't stay on, then it might have a problem connecting to your Wii and you may have to re-sync it. If the lights do not come on at all, try changing the batteries to a completely new pair. If the lights still do not come on, part of the Wii Remote may be damaged and you may just have to use a different one.

How do I synce wii remotes

  1. You will first need to make sure your Wii remotes have batteries. Then, turn on your Wii and go to the Wii menu.

  2. Open the little white door on the front of the Wii game console (this may require using your fingernail). You will notice a little rectangular red button.

  3. Open the battery compartment of your Wii controller, which may require removing the rubber jacket. You will notice a little round red button there.

  4. Press and hold the red button on the Wii game system and the red button on the Wii remote at the same time for at least 2 seconds. I usually hold down the remote button, then press the game console button for 2 seconds because it is easier for me. You will notice the 4 little blue lights on the front of the controller blink many times. The lights will eventually stop blinking and one of the four lights will remain on. The light that remains on tells which number Wii remote you have. The one on the left is number 1. The second from the left is number 2, etc.
If you bring your remotes to a friend's house to play, don't forget to sync your remotes back to your Wii console when you get home.

All the best!

Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote.

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
  2. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up, and press the SYNC button just below the batteries. The Player LED will blink.
  3. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment.
  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 to 4).

This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.

Yesterday i was playing on my wii at my friends house and whe i bring it back to my house cursor do not appear i can press a button and + - buttons but i do not see any cursor... my wii is 2 days old...

Make sure to the little blue light on the wii remote is on on the far left. You may have to sync it. Take the battery out of the wii remote and there is red sync button. There is another red sync button under the little flippy door on the front of the wii where the SD card slot is. press both buttons and wait for the wii remote to stop blinking. Then point it directly at the sensor.

The batteries went in my wii remote so i replaced them but now cant get the remote to work,,i"ve tried everything i could think of so now asking for your help, can you help please??

You may need to sync up your remotes to your console again.

If the 4 squares blink blue, then stop, your Wii Remote is not synced. Press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time. This should connect your Wii Remote if it's been synced before.

If your 4 squares still blink blue, then stop, these last steps will do the trick. First, on the front of the Wii console, just underneath the disc slot, there is a small panel that opens down. Open it and press the small red button.

Open the battery panel of your Wii Remote and press the small red button. Replace the battery panel and observe the blinking blue lights. If 3 stop blinking, and 1 remains lit blue, your Wii Remote is synced with your console. Make sure to secure the wrist strap, and have fun!

Setting up 2nd wii remote

Greetings mlsaenz7,

You need to resynch the second remote to the Wii console. To accomplish this you need to hit the sync button under the battery cover on the remote, and then when the lights are flashing on the remote, you hit the sync button on the Wii. The synch button is located under the small cover to the left of the cd/dvd slot.
Thank you,

take off the battery compartment for the Wii Remote, and you should see a small red sync button. While the Wii is on, open up the flap for the SD cards, and you should see a red sync button on the Nintendo Wii. While holding the red sync button for the Wii Remote, press and hold the red sync button on the Nintendo Wii. After a few seconds, put the battery cover back on, and test the Wii Remote.
