Question about Ovens
Kenmore Mod# C970555821 This was actually a customer's question, but the door would not open after a self cleaning cycle they had started earlier in the day. I suggested turning off the breaker for a minute, pushing the door in and restarting a self-cleaning cycle for a few minutes before canceling it, however the stove would not allow her to start another self-cleaning session. She's currently looking into having a tech come out, but I was wondering if that was really necessary, or if there was some 'magic' button fix. Questions like these come up a lot, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: oven door locked
First check to see if you activated the "child lock-out". See your manual to deactivate.
You could also try unplugging the unit, or trip the circuit breaker in your home which supplies power to the oven. Wait 5 minutes and turn power back on. This will reset the controls.

I had the same problem today. After I cleaned my self cleaning oven the cycle went back to normal but the oven door would not open even though the screen was clear and didn't read locked. I held the stop button for 3 second, I don't remember what the message said on the screen but I held the stop button in again for 3 seconds and the screen said locked then I did it again and the screen said door and the oven opened. I don't know, maybe it was just sheer luck it's worth a try. I'm happy.

on these units they have a self resetting device that you will need to activatethis is done by unplugging the oven for at least one hour then plugging it back in and wait for 5 min then press the normal cancel buton or you might even hear a click sound then you will be allowed to unlock it ok and close the door hope this helps you out please rate this solution it helps get better results for our customers like you
