Question about GE Profile PSW26P Stainless Steel Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Low water pressure from my GE water dispenser

The water pressure from my GE Profile fridge (PSS26MSWA SS) is very low. I have verified that the water pressure up to the back of the fridge is fine. I assume that somewhere between the inlet point at the back of the fridge and the water dispenser there is atleast one valve. Do you know how many and where they are located?

SOURCE: PSS26MSWA SS - GE Fridge: water dispenser not working

this is a common problem with GE refrigerators. The water line freezes. It is a cheap and easy ($30) fix that takes about 15 minutes. I found a ton of people having this issue so I did a blog post with the symptoms and part to order. Read more about it here.

SOURCE: Where are the duel water inlet valves located on ge fridge arctic profile

unless you have a water dispenser, top mount refrigerators usually only have a single inlet water valve. Either way, the valves will be located in the back on the machine and covered by the lower portion cover, but will have a small area for the water line to hook up. Just remove the lower panel in the back and you will be able to see it

We have the same model and just had exactly the same problem. The coil behind the fresh produce trays is frozen. There are 2 coils, one provides water for the water dispenser and the other to the ice maker. Looking into the fridge the water dispenser coil is on the right hand side. We unplugged the fridge for a couple of hours and the problem has been solved. Try increasing the temperature of your fridge by a degree or two.

GE Profile PSS26PSTA SS freezer problem

Forget the warranty - it is only for the compressor and that is usually five years. Did you check for freezer temp - wet cubes indicates too warm up there. Water dispenser lines may be clogged.

If low temps you may have low refrigerant or a defrost mechanism not working - if not working there should be ice buildup on line entering the evaporator in back of compartment.

Low water flow after changing the water filter in a gf profile re

Just a suggestion, you could try installing a filter on the water supply line to the fridge. A nice one should dramatically lessen the frequency of replacing the one in the fridge. As for your the pressure being low, look for a kink or pinch in the water supply line.

Check to see if there is any obstruction (object of any kind) in the ice cube mold area. If nothing found, you will have to replace the icemaker, as individual repair parts are not available.
