Question about Maytag Washing Machines
We have a maytag bravos washing machine, #MVWX500XW0, serial #C03634353. Oddly enough the warranty just expired. When the spin cycle starts, it makes a sound that's hard to describe but you can hear it revving up then then sounds like it's going to slow down or stop then rev's up again and it does this several times until eventually the spin cycle stops altogether. When this first started happening after the lock light went off you could hit start again and it would drain fine. Now that doesn't even solve it. I disconnected the drain hose from the back and it's not clogged. I know some models have LED diagnostics that you can run to get clue at the problem but either we don't have that option or I'm just not doing it right.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)

This isnt really a solution because Im having the same problem. The repair man that came said that is buildup of soap in the water line. I use my own powder soap, not h/e, and its not desolving and getting built up in the lines. Im not sure what to do to get it to stop doing this. He suggested cutting back on the amount of soap and running hot water through the lines which I have done for the last couple of days but I still have this problem.

SOURCE: We have a Maytag Bravos
It won't go directly to the drain pump, there is a filtering plastic screen beneath the wheel.
1: unplug the unit and open up the cover at the back
2.: you will see the bottom of the drum with a wheel connected to it, hold it tight (you'll need a helper)
3: while somebody is holding it at the back, go to the fron and you wheel the bolt on top of the wheel inside the tub, Un-bolt it
4: once the bolt is remove try to lift the wheel upward using the right left right left motion upward, do this slowly and carefully, remember do not turn the wheel JUST LIFT it side by side
then you will see if there a coin or whatever is blocking the drain, when you put it back, same procedure what you did taking it out only this time you PUSH downward
