Re: 3gb microdrive

Have you checked the cables that connect the drive to computer first remove the ribon cable from hard drive and power up computer check if hdd is spinning up you may feel a slight vibration if you feel this vibration then power off if you have the cd ribbon cable still attached place this end to hdd then power on if boots in then you need a new ribbon cable. if hdd is not spinning replace hdd hope this has helped

My Hitachi Microdrive 4gb hard drive seems corrupt, but my computer still shows photos as jpg files (about 1000kb) and jrg files(30000kb, impossible). When I try to open them, the computer shows "no file"...

H there this mean a file is corrupt and you need to repair the damage file, you can do this by using a recovery disk for the computer if you have one.If you don't do not have a recovery disk for the computer you can use the operating system disk to repair it,please follow these steps:insert the operating system disk into the drive, restart the computer, press F12 and choose boot from CD save and exit.As the computer loading it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD, press any key, a blue screen will appear while its loading, when it get to the first set of options you will press enter to continue. when it get to the second set of options it will ask you to install the operating system or repair it, choose repair and follow the steps from there, this should solve the problem. But should backup your files before doing this even though no file will be lost but its better to backup just in case something goes wrong.

Set-up recognize my hdd but windows doesn't

Windows uses NTFS file system.

you need to enter a boot disk/recovery disk/windows xp disk into your CD drive and in the system BIOS select the CD drive to boot first. Once the CD has loaded you can re-format your HDD to NTFS and re-install windows

You will, however loose all your data but your HDD will function again with windows
