Why does my power light blink on my dyson dc 28 vacumn
The machine is warning you that you have the brushbar set too low for the carpet you're trying to clean - try raising it to the level above this. Hi there its Darran at Dyson.
Difficult one to give advice on as its impossible to know what is causing this. It wuold be worth checking that the soleplate and brush bar area underneath the head are all correctly assembled as this could be interfering with the upright locking mechanism.
If everything seems to be ok, you may find it useful to get in touch with us directly as your machine should still be under warranty. The Helpline number is on your machine but in case you dont have it to hand, the number is 1866MYDYSON.

We would strongly advise against attempting this sort of repair yourself, as the work should only be carried out by a Dyson engineer. If you feel your DC28 needs servicing, please get in touch with us directly so we can help you resolve your issue as quickly as possible. If servicing is necessary, any work carried out should be covered by our 5-year warranty, as long as the cleaner has been used in accordance with the terms and conditions described in the user guide. Please note attempting to repair the machine yourself will void the warranty.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your Dyson vacuum. As DC17 doesn't have any indicator lights, it sounds as if you may actually have a DC28. If the red light is blinking, the machine may need resetting - to do this, please follow the steps shown in the video below.
