I had to run full chock to get it back to the house before it shut down, what cuase this?

I'm sure you have dirt in your carb. If you know how to take the carb apart......You need to get a can of carb cleaner and carb kit. Take the carb apart and spray every hole and nook a crany you can see. Put the new kit in the carb and you should be ready to go!! This has happened to several times.

Old fuel in a carburator, do i need to take the carb all apart and clean it?

I would remove the carb and give it a thorough cleaning. If you have that junk in the bowl, chances are the jets are clogged with it too.

Toro recycler mower won't stay running

take apart the carb float and clean it out, then take apart the rest of the carb and spray cleaner through it. sounds like you might have some old gas turned to jelly in your carb thats plugging it too much for the typical pressures inside the carb to **** through

Starts then dies

Carb might be fouled with old gas. Try taking the carb off. Take it apart and clean it with carb or brake cleaner and blow out with compressed air. Reassemble and reinstall the carb.
You could also have some debris in the fuel tank - clean it out.

Alternately you can change the carb.

Leaking carb

The float is probably stuck. Remove the carb and then the float bowl. Clean the carb and remount it.

Must run choke on all the time with troy bilt gas blower: 50:1

First I would check your fuel filter in the tank. They use a sintered type that clogs easily then allows dirt to get into the internal screen in the Zama carb, if the filter is clean and whole I suggest to take the carb out and clean it. Remenber to only use starting fluid to clean the internal parts, as carb cleaner will melt the internal check valves and ruine the carb. Dont be afraid to take the carb apart, its not brain surgery, just start with a nice clean shop cloth and lay it out as you take it apart. The screen I am referring to is on the metering diaphragm side, thats the side with one screw on it

Idol goes up and down keeps running but not enough to cut grass doesnt stall change plug and sprayed choch carb cleaner no sucess

There should be a spring that acts as a governor, kinda stabilizes the idle, mabey stretched or in wrong hole, but shouldnt be if it hasnt been touched. Usually when the pushmowers start acting like that there is crud somewhere in the carb. Take the carb completely apart, hell order a rebuild kit, theyre not that much, but take it completely apart. spray it down real good, take a piece of welding wire and poke through those small holes. Make sure you take an air gun afterwards and give it the once over before installing.
