It will boot up, but the screen locks up and changing from screen to screen is extremely slow. what can I do?
The problem is that the Aspire One is extremely slow. it was designed to run a Linux operating system not windows. Microsoft just cut down Win 7 to make it work- It just doesn't work well. The only thing that may speed things up is an upgrade to 2GB of RAM. If you already have this then, you will have to live with it. Sorry.

Have you installed Vista SP1 yet? It supposed speed things up.

Insert a windows boot disc. Go into the bios select it to boot from CD-ROM first. Then you can go from there. If you get it to boot to windows disc, then you could start reinstalling windows. If you are still having issues then there is a more serious issue. If you have any other questions let me know.
