The heater will not kick on. It's a programable 7 day that reads 69 degrees and if I arrow up to 72 degrees, nothing happens

Change Temperature Setting Until the Next Program Period (Temporary Change)
? Press UP Arrow or DOWN Arrow until the screen shows the desired temperature setting.
NOTE: The temporary temperature setting is displayed for about 3 seconds and then the room temperature is displayed.
Temporary appears in the display. The setting cancels when the next program period starts or when
you press RUN PROGRAM.

Change Temperature Setting Indefinitely (Hold)
? Move the System switch to the desired position (Heat or Cool).
? Press HOLD TEMP then UP Arrow or Down Arrow to change your setting if desired. (The display changes from showing the setpoint
temperature to room temperature after approximately three seconds).
? To cancel Hold press RUN PROGRAM.

The downloadable manuals for this t-stat are here, and the addendum, here. Page 17 and 18 detail thermostat operation I have copied above. It has graphic representations of keys that do not copy over very well, so if you have questions about the steps above, you should view the manual in the links provided above.

I hope this helps! Please take a moment to rate my reply - thanks!

Backup for control in powercuts not working have to reset every time

Most Honeywell Thermostats have battery back up to maintian program during power outages, so replace the batteries.
Some thermostats have a button type battery hidden just behind the front cover, you have to take the whole thing apart to get to it, these usually last a long time, unless the thermostat was installed and then removed and sat without power hooked to it,
The final type uses a capacitor to store power, it will usually hold program, for 7 days with no power, if the capacitor is bad, it is time to replace the whole thing.
Hope this helps, good luck.

I need to reset the date and year

Hello,

I had exact same problem with RTH7500. Did not set the date properly at the beginning and than realized that there is no menu option to change the date after it is saved once (???!). I was very confused for few hours and wandering - trying to find changing option on thermostat menu; than I was looking online what can be done... I could not find solution...

Than I took out both AA batteries, open the thermostat (be very careful while doing this - you don't want to break plastic peaces that hold the thing together) and took out the button battery thinking that this will reset the thermostat... but it did not.

I repeated the same thing, but this time, while the button battery was out, I put two AA batteries back and this reset the thermostat... the old - blinking date appeared and I was very happy to see this on thermostat screen! This time I set the time properly and it works fine.

:)

Hope this will be helpful if you did not solve the issue yet... if you did, someone else might find this solution useful.

Changing a room thermostat a potterton to honeywell t6360

I think I've done it - but don't take this as absolute truth.
For the Honeywell T6360B the original Potterton wiring should be rewired as follows:
Brown [Live] goes to terminal 1; Blue [neutral] goes to Terminal 2 and the yellow/green [which is not an earth but a switched live - i.e. gives live to the heating system when the thermostat clicks in] goes to terminal 3.
Obviously all done with the power isolated and when it was switched back on we had heating again :o)
It's been on over two hours now and all seems fine.
