Question about Edimax Computers & Internet
Gerald sy, email@example.com My brother bought an edimax br 6428nS, and the problem is it gives signal and wifi, but it doesn't give internet i dont know why. Can you help me about it? I tried testing it, and this what happened. We got a Cisco Linksys Router w.c is connected to the internet(router of the internet,DSL), so i plug a lan cable to the lan part of cisco wifi, then connect it to the WLAN port of the edimax router, when i tried using edimax wifi,it works, but if i reverse it meaning, i connected the DSL to edimax wifi, and connected a lan cable to its lan port, then connect it to WLAN of Cisco Wifi, it doesnt give internet. Can someone help me here? my conclusion is,theres something wrong with edi max wifi, which doesnt allow internet, but it gives wifi, it always say no internet access. So it looks like this edimax is trash because of this performance.
A router is only used to connect devices together in a LAN (local area network). In order to get out to the internet you also will need a modem (cable or dsl depending on your service) You will also need to pay for service through an ISP (Internet Service Provider)

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Let's see if this things work..
First open the internet explorer browser. On the Address bar, type 192.168.2.1.
The site will ask you for username and password. The default username is admin and password is 1234.
The edimax page will appear, click the quick setup wizard.
just follow the instructions. The site will ask of your broadband type; click the PPPoE x DSL and fill up the required information.
Type your Username, Password, and Service Name and other info.
Hope this one helps you...

When you enter a WEP key, you must completely redo the new connection on the PC, remove the adapter and start all over again as in reinstall the driver, then do the connect to network, thing. BTW, you MUST save the setting in the router, and reboot the router, and then reboot PC, and then try to establish a connection. You should also use this tip, when you generate that BIG number WAP?WEP Key, copy/paste it to a notepad document, and save as wapkey. No after saving it in router and rebooting, when you come to the Field to enter the WAP/WEP key when logging onto the Router, you can simply copy & paste back from that notepad document you saved before. Now you should be able to login, remember to save network setting too. so you don't have to enter it each time you login.

Check the connection type is not "Connect on Demand".
Check the Idle Time Out setting is not used.
This specifies the amount of time the router waits before shutting down an idle connection. This option is only available when "Connect on Demand" is selected. See the manual
