There is a widespread problem with windows 7 and the non OEM batteries not detecting. If your battery will not detect, follow these instructions, and this is a proven fix. If it does not fix, then the issue lies somewhere else.

1) Disconnect AC
2) Shutdown
3) Remove battery
4) Connect AC
5) Startup
6) Under the Batteries category, right-click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing, and select Uninstall. Do this for each instance (I had 2 batteries installed, so 2 instances. Most users will only have 1).
7) Shutdown
8) Disconnect AC
9) Insert battery
10) Connect AC
11) Startup
Hopefully, this will work for others!!!

As long as you buy a genuine Dell AC adapter, it will be find.
Do not buy a 3rd party AC adapter.

I have bought at least a dozen Dell AC adapters on eBay. Just make sure the photo shows a genuine Dell.

Dell e6330 when you plug in power cable its flashing on screen and not changing. Showing error saying power plag not compatible.

The Dell e6330 laptop requires a 63watt or higher power supply. You can search a marketplace of your choice (Amazon, e-bay, etc...) or google / bing "dell e6330 power supply" then compare the results with your power supply. If what you have is the same, then the power supply you have may be defective. If you have access to another Dell laptop (friend or co-worker) see if their power supply works with your laptop, and if your power supply works on their laptop. Do not force the connection into either laptop as you may damage the motherboard.

First check in BIOS whether the BIOS itself is identifying the battery.Behind the battry there is a health check meter which will tell the current health of the battery which will tell you whether it is time to replace the battery.
also try reinstalling the ACPI chipset driver.

Hi. I bought a generic dell charger replacement for my laptop and it doesn't charge the battery, I was wondering if there was some way to make the computer properly recognize it.

Unfortunatly there is no way to make a 3rd party AC adapter function with certain dell models. The packaging ont he adapter you purchased may say that it is compatable with your computer but dell units are very specific when it comes to which AC adapters will work properly with them. The best thing you can do is return the 3rd party adapter and purchase the correct one from dell directly. The reason that dall laptops don't all work with 3rd part ACAs is becuase of a signaling line build into the laptop's motherboard. This line enables communication from the SuperIO controller on the board with a corresponding EPROM built into the AC adapter. If the SuperIO controller receives a signal from the wrong EPROM (AKA wrong AC adapter) then it will not recognize the power source and may or may not work properly or at all.

Please go to this website:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/details?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~tab=2&~ck=mn
And enter the service tag located on the bottom of your dell laptop. This will allow you to navigate to a page with your exact system confoguration information. Here you will be able to see the correct dell part number for the orginial AC adapter for your unit. You can then order this adapter from dell. Even though dell adapters are more expensive than generic ones, they are guaranteed to work.

I bought a new dell charger and it's not being recognized. It's a PA-12 family charger and in the list is supposed to work with my 1501 Inspiron. Tried bios update.Microsoft ACPI is 6.0.6 already to.

Check in BIOS and see whether its recognised there..If its not, it could be the Motherboard which is the culprit here...if system is Out of Warranty, and its charging, then forget the recognising issue...other Contact Dell's Out Of warranty for repair options.Would suggest using Dell spares for the system than going with other 3rd party supported adaptors

Buy replacement Dell laptop batteries or oringinal ?

Usually you can save a good amount of money by replacing the battery with one made by a 3rd party. You can find a replacement for most laptop batteries at Batteries Plus.
