reset the lamp timer. it's usually hold menu button , down arrow, and enter, and press power. but it's an old projector and may be different.

mine does the same thing but i can see the whole screen it's just half height full width, above solution about zooming to 1X is what i've been doing to fix it for the last 6 months, needs to be done every time I turn the power back on. Anybody know of a more perminate fix?
Now my power supply has gone have the projector in pieces, found a failed on transistor but because it's over heated can't read of it what type it was....
Already replaced two blown diodes in the main H-bridge
Looks like one coil will need rewinding.
If anybody has one in pieces I would be great if you can help me work out what the blown transistor was.

SOURCE: projector buttons locked
unfortunately, you need the remote. fortunately, you can use almost any sharp projector remote (same code). when you do get one, press (in this order)- menu, enter, enter, menu, undo, undo, menu.

If the problem is what I describe as a blue haze over the entire image projected, I was told this is a defect in the cable - we have a Dell Video Projector 2300 - and it takes only a dell VGA cable.
So, the problem is in the cable - solution is replace cable.
