Bissell momentum canister vacuum retractable electrical cord not retracting

Either the cord inside is caught on something or the retraction spring is broken.
Try to pull it out further, if you can feel any spring-back then most likely the cord is caught, maybe on itself.
Either way, the canister will probably have to be disassembled to fix the problem.

THE LATCH IS READING THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED BUT I CAN OPEN THE DOOR WHILE THE DISHWASHER IS IN CYCLE. WITH THE SPRING INDISE THE DOOR BEING LOCKED IT WONT EVENT LET ME FULLY SHUT THE DOOR! ANY HELP.

Hello friend, thank you for your post!
From what you have described the spring from the latch is broken inside of the door and you are unable to close your Frigidaire dishwasher. You would need to disassemble the dishwasher in order to replace the latch or spring. This needs to be done by a professional technician as improper disassembly could results in personal injury. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Acer Aspire E1-571-6650 would not charge. Problem thought to be DC Jack (AC Adapter would not fix and DC Jack seemed loose). Had the same problem a year ago in July and it was fixed. Original charger...

Difficult to comment but if a laptop comes in for me to repair and the hinge is broken and maybe cabinet damage, I would offer to replace the broken parts and replace the DC jack, if it was faulty. It is part of the service but may not be cheap to repair!
Hinges usually become loose and very rarely break.
Did the laptop work on the power supply but not on battery?

Recoil spring on craftsman profession 30 Ft cord reel

On the right side of the housing is a cover. In the center is a hex shaped knob. Hold the knob while removing the cover screws. Once the cover is loose release the spring pressure on the knob. Then you can gain access to the rewind assembly. To reinstall, start with 6 rotations of the knob to put the proper stress on the spring.

My Kitchenaid khms155lss-2 has a problem latching completely. Once finally latched the microwave would start and then stop during the cooking time because the door became unlatched. I have to stand by the...

Ok.Agreed, latch is not cracked or worn out.But check the grip of latch.Open the door. The hold the latch in your hand and see,if its loose or tight. It should be tight.Press the latch towards down and move it left/right slowly --- slowly. And inspect the latch. It will move, there will be a moment but the position of the latch in the door frame should be tight. If you feel that latch is got very loose, then the door frame needs to be disassembled and latch assembly has to be repositioned and fitted. In most of the cases this latch breaks/cracks and it needs replacement. But in your case, its different, you mentioned that if you keep your oven door pressed then latch remains closed..So if latch is broken/cracked it will not get closed properly. So as per that i think, you will have to check the opposite side of the door frame, where this latch gets into.On that side, there is a interlock type part.Which holds this latch. That part is operated by spring. If in-case that interlock type part or the spring, any of this is got loose then latch will get released after few minutes.--------------- But first as regular troubleshooting, you inspect the latch.Do you feel its loose or getting very easily moved, then open the door frame and check the latch.----------- For that you will required door disassembly diagram:--- Click the link, see part number 3 is door latch.-------- http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/W0505176-00002.png -------------- If the latch is properly positioned and intact then ,you will need to disassemble the opposite side cabinet to check the internal part, which hold the latch. For that you will require complete disassembly:---Click this link for complete disassembly:-- http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kitchenaid-Parts/Microwave-Parts/Model-KHMS155LSS2/0593/0123370?pathTaken=&prst=0&shdMod=KHMS155LSS2 -------------- The door latch itself or other parts holding the door latch, none of the part is costly then $10.The cost of part is under $10.---------It just require you to figure out, either is cracked /broken part or just loose misaligned part.-------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Garage door does not open. goes up about 4 inches. disconnected from opener and still can't open. checked wheels in frame move by hand. opener works when not attached to door.

You probably have a broken torsion spring. If you have a spring on a shaft above the door (usually 2 if it is a double door) then you have a torsion spring. From this shaft you have a 2 cables wound on a drum going down to the bottom of the door. If it is a single door, then this cable will be loose. If you have a double door, then most likely one spring is broken. This allows the door to open slightly, until one side is trying to lift(good spring) and the other side cannot (broken spring) Unless you are an EXTREMELY CONFIDENT DIYer then you should leave this do a door repairman as winding a torsion spring is dangerous, and can break bones or even kill. Now if your door has extension springs on each side of the track, with a pully and cable, then these can easily be replaced yourself. Check that cables are connected to the springs and the door and that one didn't break or come loose or cable off pully and binding.

How to replace KitchenAid KSM75WH Speed Control Lever

Hi PC1546. Replacing your speed control lever is a pretty simple repair job. The inspection and troubleshooting of the inside of your mixer is a DITY capability, particularly if your mixer is out of warranty. Just be sure to have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> and select “Consumer” for User Type, then enter the 6 character Model Number, in your case, KSM75W, and select the file listed under Parts List (1) KSM75WH1.pdf (341.26 KB) and save that to your computer. (Check that it matches your mixer model).
Turn to pages 6 & 7, titled “Motor And Control Parts”, which provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer’s electrical components, along with all the parts. Locate Illus Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, which are Pivot screw, Spring washer, Switch lever and stud, and Control plate spring respectively. Disassemble your mixer to the point of accessing your speed selector assembly, and inspect the pivot screw to see if it hasn’t worked itself loose over time. That’s the simplest thing to fix. If loose, tighten. Inspect the rest of the assembly to determine if something else hasn’t broken or gotten out of alignment. If something has broken, you can order replacement parts and install them yourself.
As far as parts go, here are five potential online vendors in no particular order: RepairClinic.com; mendingshed.com; searspartsdirect.com; partstore.com; and Grainger.com (for grease). Prices can vary widely between vendors, so do some comparison shopping.
While your mixer is apart it would be ideal to check for any other unseemly wear and tear on the gears, etc. It can be messy but quite gratifying to diagnose and repair your mixer yourself.
Here are some links to several excellent websites that detail the disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer.
Between these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your Parts List manual, you should now be able to completely disassemble and reassemble your mixer.
Good luck and have fun. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Hotpoint wf740 aquarius 1400 v noisy banging during spin = dust

It could be a broken drum restraint spring, or a worn or broken. or loose shock absorber.
To check the springs, remove the top cover, and you will see the springs.
Another possibility is the concrete weight could be broken or loose.
You need to remove the lower rear panel of washer to check the shockers and concrete weight.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Flash won't pop up

I have a couple of Fuji S700 cameras and one of them recently came down with the same issue. The flash would partly open but not pop up all the way. I decided to open the camera up and find out what was really wrong. It had been sticking before and the above suggestion about blowing it out helps, but this issue is where it unlatches, pops up part way but doesn't go all the way up and if it doesn't go all the way up the flash doesn't work.

The problem is there is a spring insite the flash hinge that pops the flash up once the electronic latch is opened by the auto exposure circuitry. One end of the spring goes into a hole on the part of the flash that pops up and this plastic part is simply too thin for the force on it and it breaks over time. Bad design.

I should say I first thought about a couple of workarounds. One was real easy if you are not too handy. Take a small rubber band and run it from around the eyepiece to around the "lobe" under the flash. When you weant to use the flash, depress the shutter half way to unlatch it, then move the elastic from the lobe to under the raised flash and it will hold it up. You can leave it up all the time if that works for you. It didn't fit my case with the flash up all the time so I decided to forge ahead... Buying a new case might have been a wiser choice :-)

By the way, its not easy to get into the flash area. I pretty much had to completely disassemble the camera, and I got in a fight with a very high voltage capacitor for the flash that holds its charge for a VERY long time after the batteries are out AND it holds enough charge to get you a few times so use a resistor to discharge it when you get into that are or else... be afraid, very afraid. Seriously. Before you disassemble read on...

If you had a very tiny right angle philips screwdriver you could probably do this repair without taking things apart. The key is there are two screws that hold the top cover of the flash area on. This is the area you need to get at to fix this spring. These screws that are only accessible when the flash is popped up and even then you can't see them as they are recessed. If you can get those screws out somehow then you can do this without a nightmare. If you take the whole thing apart then welcome to hell. I am just on my way back from hell. Hope mine works when I get it back together.

I chose to epoxy a small bent pin in to replace the broken plastic part. I used a long square wire wrap pin, bent it to the right shape and cut it to the right dimensions then glued it in place using epoxy. There is a fair amount of room for glue in there, but be careful not to get it into the area where the lower shaft has to slide back and forth as the flash pops up and down. I used 5 minute epoxy and first just used a tiny dab to hold it in place and I positioned it carefully and let that set. Then I did another glue job to add some strength. Position, then reinforce.

I will try to post some pictures in a followup.
