SOURCE: A clothespin was dropped down lint filter chute, how can I remove the pin?

Hi, UNPLUG the dryer! You will need to remove the two screw at the lint filter. Now you will need to remove the rear panel of the dryer. Looking at the dryer from the rear with the back off, you will see the lint screen housing on the left side. There are 4) 5/16" screws holding that on. remove those screws and you should be able to pull the housing away from the bulkhead enough to reach the close pin. If the housing does not move far enough, you will ned to raise the top panel up to give the housing more room to move.
I hope this helps you. If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Dropped a portable phone down the lint chute of a whirlpool cabrio dryer

Hi

That was UN-lucky. I would try using 2 thin pieces of wood to reach down into the lint trap housing and lift the phone out. This might be hard because the phone is smooth so if you have some double sided tape, apply that to the wood. If the phone is standing vertical, you may what to try using a large set of channel lock pliers to reach down. If all this fails, you'll need to disassemble the dryer. See my other solution for disassemble instructions.
Best of luck.

I need to change the door switch. I have the part. Should I take off the top or the front to change that part?

For the model dryer you have listed, the easiest way to access the door switch is to lift the top panel. The switch can then be removed and replaced by following these steps:

1. UNPLUG the dryer and remove the lint screen.

2. Remove the two screws that were under the lint screen and lift the top panel.

3. Unplug the door switch connector plug and any ground wire that may be installed on the casing.

4. Remove defective switch and replace.

NOTE: Now would be a good time to do a routine inspection and cleaning of the interior dryer cabinet to ensure there's no lint build up.

Once repairs are completed, lower the top panel back in place and reinstall the two screws along the lint screen opening.

NOTE: Placing a piece of duct tape over the dryer vent chute will help safeguard against dropping anything down in the blower fan assembly. If you drop any screws down the chute, you will need to remove the dryer back panel to retrieve them.

If you have any questions about this repair, or if the model number is different, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Thermal fuse location on a 110.9597590110 gas dryer

The model number of your machine doesn't seem to exist but the thermal fuse, whether dryer is electric or gas, is always located on the blower housing together with the thermistor or cycling thermostat depending on the model of the dryer. The blower housing is located at the rear of the dryer if the lint filter of you dryer is located on top of the cabinet and can be accessed by removing the rear panel.

The blower housing is located on the front right bottom of the dryer if the lint filter is located on the door. It can be accessed by removing the kick panel.

Kick Panel Removal

Once the kick panel is removed, remove the lint chute to expose the blower housing and the thermal fuse.

Dropped something down lint trap, how do I gain access to get it out before it gets tangles in the exhaust fan?

next time send model number?the filter must be on top, unplug the dryer,if it's gas make sure it's on a flex gas line so you can pull the dryer away from the wall.unplug the dryer, remove the vent line, remove the back panel.on the left side you'll see a duct that the lint filter slides into, remove the two phillips screws on the top panel where you pull the filter out, then remove the four screws holding the duct on and remove whatever you dropped down there, while you have that open vac it out,if your vent line is a long run from the back of dryer to the outside vent blow it out with a leaf blower,do this once a year if it's gas and once every two years if it's electric, let me know how you make out

Whirlpool LGB6400LW suddenly takes multiple cycles to dry clothes. It used to do a great job...now it still gets kind of hot but takes 2-3 runs to get the clothes dry. It's 6 years old. Help! Thanks!

Try vacuuming out the exhaust vent hose and as much of the interior air passages as possible. Soak the lint screen in hot water and detergent to remove fabric softener deposits from the screen. Vacuum the burner intake and exhaust vents as well. Hope this helps!

For jsrock516, it's a top lint filter.

Okay...you need to unplug the machine, first. Remove the two screws that are located at the lint filter on top of the dryer. Move the dryer out from from the wall and disconnect the dryer hose. Remove the back panel. The screws are 1/4 inch socket drive screws. With the back off, you will need to remove the dryer vent baffle on the left hand side as you are looking at it from the back. This will be the long chute that the lint filter goes into. Clean the baffle out thoroughly. With it removed from the machine you can probably get away with rinsing it with water. Just make sure you dry it off good inside and out. Inspect the blower fan assembly. Make sure you clean it off real well. I would not recommend removing the fan, as they have a tendency to break when removing. Check in and around the bottom of the dryer casing and vent exhaust tube. Make sure get all the soap cleaned up. If you don't, you can get lint accumulations and a soapy residue that turns to a sticky goo. This dryer configuration is actually easier than the front door style lint filters. Just make sure you reinstall everything in the reverse order that you have taken it off. Keep all screws in a handy container so you don't lose them (there may be a lot of them). When reinstalling the screws on the top of the dryer for the lint filter opening, you may have to move the dryer chute around a bit to get the screws to realign. Do not drop the screws down the chute, or you will have to take the unit apart again to get them out. Good luck and let me know if this helps you, and if I can assist any further. You do not have to post separate comments. Just add a comment to this exchange.
