Re: my phone is all out of whack

Well maybe your sim has been cancelled or blocked or even out of date , thats what hapened to mine ( one of them lol ) so you can order free sim cards of all kinds on the internet i suggest you do that 1st and then your network should be fully functioning , after that try reset your factory settings which can be accessed via the settings icon , then select restore factory settings the code should be 1234 or 12345 , that should fix your date problem , and for your charging problem try a new battery becoz if your battery was removed and then when u put it back in it doesnt charge then there must be a fault with your battery , hope i helped :D

time and date should automaticaly reset but if it doesnt try this. With the phone turned on remove the battery for about 30 to 60 sec. then put battery back in and turn phone on it should have reset the time and date. Doing this worked on my wifes phone hopefully it will work 4 yours.

Just purchased a LG420G phone. Can you please explain to me how to reset the time / date to the current day, etc. I have gone to settings and cannot figure how to change time and date

This is what I did to set time on my lg420g:
-turn off phone
-remove battery for a little while
-put in battery and turn on.

You can't set the time manually in any settings.
It does it automatically.

Nokia n80 problem

The "Backup Battery" / Capacitor in your unit is dead and you will need a visit to the service center.

If you are handy with small tools and soldering you can replace this part yourself.

If the unit is still under warranty, this will be a covered repair if you visit a service center, depending on where you live.

There is also nothing wrong with your handset, and no firmware update will help you - the unit simply cannot keep the current time without at least a little bit of power (from the backup battery) to help "store" the date and time as set by the user. This can be problematic for some, but is probably not worth the time to fix if not under warranty.

Please ask any questions you might have!
