ls443, at first if zoom function used, took black screen photos. Zoom left alone, picture ok, then condition got worse, black picture all of the time, every other part of the camera is working fine.

I have never seen a camera where the display actually contains the words 'blah blah blah' . Are you sure that you have read them correctly ?

What is wrong with my camera?

The display being black can be due to failure of the LCD or the CCD which is the optical sensor of the camera. So to confirm check the older picture to be seen on the display. Confirm this by checking the card on your PC. If the images/picture is seen to be of good quality, then the LCD can be faulty, fault on the linking cable or the control board.

However if the older images are seen well then the LCD is working correctly and the fault can be failure of the CCD- charge coupled device in the camera. If you have accidently exposed the camera directly to high intensity light / sunlight, then it is possible that it is damaged. Remove the battery and keep the camera aside to reset and try as a last resort. Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

Apparently takes pictures ... but black out the screen .... if you turn on and everything but can not see anything ... Sorry about my English

I see nothing on the monitor screen when I want to capture a picture. The screen monitor remaind black but I can capture new pictures. when I press the play button, I can't see the picture. When I retreive the picture from the camera to a computer, I realize the picture is black and I can't distinguish anything.
But when I introduce the good picture from my computer to the Digital Camera, from the Sceen Monitor, I can visualize only the good picture I introduce in mysefl.
The flash is working properly, the on/Off button is ok, the lens appear to be normal.

Lens blocked? Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS, recently water damaged

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see the following for further info and a simple fix that may help:

LCD Screen does not work properly

Your camera works just like a film camera SLR,. You use the eyepiece to frame and focus your picture. The LCD screen is for reviewing pictures taken or menu operations. You cannot preview a shot on screen before it is taken with the camera.
