I use Windows 2000 OS. As suggested in this forum i tried reinstalling the software and again checked. But invain. When i check in the All programs->Control Panel->System->Device Manager i see the camera in the other devices. Also when i switch on the camera(already set to slide mode or Play mode) it says New hardware found. Please suggest if any other driver or anything needs to be installed. I understand that you installed to your PC the software CD you received with the camera. Does it written there, if it is supporting your OS ? In case it doesn't support your OS, go to Canon wed site and look for your camera's drivers supporting your OS and download it to your PC. Good luck!

Cannot detect webcam

Hi,

Thank you for choosing FixYa. I think it would be better to isolate the problem first if its a Hardware or Software. First check the Device Manager if there is any Imaging Device on it. Click on Start->Control Panel->Device Manager. If there is no imaging device try to reinstall the driver for the webcam and if that doesn't work, I suggest try to reinstall the whole Operating System(OS), by reinstalling the OS it will tell if the webcam is detected, if not it means there is a problem with the Hardware.

Hope it helps you somehow.

Why can't I transfer images from my camera to computer

Click on Start.
In Start search-box, type : Scanners and Cameras

In the device list, check if ur camera shows up or not
(u need to properly connect the camera to computer, turn the camera on)

If not, check the cable & connectors again. Click on Refresh.

If still not showing, click on Add Device, and select ur camera.

You may check ur camera with any other PC to ensure its not a problem with camera or cable.

If you've installed any new software after which it started, then uninstall them, restart PC and check camera again.

If there is any software installed for ur camera, uninstall it, restart PC, reinstall the software again. And then check.

If nothing works, it might be a corrupt Operating System.
Backup ur important data, and get the OS reinstalled.
(You should use the OS recovery disk u got along with this Dell PC)

Nikon 5600 coolpix, (old camera) reinstalled software, windows (Vista) detects when camera connects, but Nikon software does not see it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Skip the software installs.
Get a card reader/writer. Solves the problems. No software ever to install. Will be detected as a mass storage device.
Saves time and effort with any kind of digital camera.

Screen goes black after windows XP logo, then no response.

I would suggest checking your hard drive to see whether or not it has a bad sector on it.

Logitech QuickCam1150 Notebook Deluxe camera not configured properly in xp error

Hi, Please uninstall any logitech software version present on your OS (if available) - Then please proceed to clean boot. ( http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=228 ) -> Unplug all the USB devices connected to the computer ( Less keyboard + mouse ) please use corded kbd+mouse if
possible rather than a cordless device. -> Go to device manager -> Delete all the USB HOST CONTROLLER -- All of them -- -> The host controller might reinstall them itslef, let the computer handle the reinstallation -> If the computer does not reinstall the host controllers, trigger the detection using the DM function " Scan for
new hardware " ( The computer with magnifier icon ) -> Once reinstalled, clean boot -> Reinstall the software if available and/or plug the hardware when needed. -> Should work.
This TB delete the usb ports " memory " means if a device as been previously flagged with error, it will redetect
the device without the flag, unless there is some serious issue with the hardware/OS
If after this the issue persist, then I suggest you to call Logitech support to issue a replacement, hardware

O2 xda exec

This is the suggestion they provide on O2 website for such problems:
  • Perform a soft reset (PDA phone) or re-boot the device (Smartphone) and test again.
  • Perform a hard reset (PDA phone) or return to default settings (Smartphone) and test again. (read below before dong this)
  • Check that the application still fails to execute after you upgraded the ROM (OS) to the latest revision. If you haven't upgraded your ROM (OS) do so now and check again.
But before doing the hard reset, I suggest you try installing other camera software for windows mobile 5 and check if the camera still working (not a hardware problem). If its still fail, try the hard reset after backing up all you data.

My Fujifilm digital camera is connected to my computer, but the removable disk does not appear when I open "My Computer" in Windows. I have a FinePix camera and have installed the software.

If the removable disk does not appear when you open "My Computer" in Windows, it is possible that the USB drivers are not installed correctly. Update to the latest version of FinePix Viewer (including the USB drivers). To update FinePix Viewer, you must have the software from the CD-ROM bundled with the product (Utilities for FinePix) already installed. As an alternative method to updating the software, you can also reinstall the USB drivers. The USB drivers can be reinstalled by installing the software from the CD-ROM again. If the removable disk is still not displayed after the above measures have been taken, check the following: Windows system checks 1. You should be using Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 2. The Windows XP USB drivers are supported as standard system drivers but are only compatible with Software for FinePix versions 2.0 or later. If you are using an earlier version of the CD-ROM, an update to FinePix Viewer is required. 3. The software cannot be installed properly from "Scanners and Cameras" in the Control Panel. Digital camera checks 1. Check that the digital camera can play back images on its LCD monitor. 2. On digital cameras with the PC Camera function, select "DSC" as the USB setting. (Refer to the Owner's Manual for your camera for information on specifying the camera settings.)
