I have a Philips Projection TV Model 55PP241761 from label but 55PP241/76 seems to be the number recognized. The chassis # is PTV 918. After a few minutes the audio will shut down. Also the buttons on the front of the tv causes the channel to change. Especially the Volume down button. The switches seem to be dirty. When checking them with a meter they do not go to zero ohms when closed but instead have some varied resistance. The owner of the TV had a technician check the set and was told it needed a small board changed but he(owner) does not know which board. I believe it to be the SSB board. I have a part number of 313912725881 for the SSB? Also would like to know if an original remote is available for this TV. The original is gone and the univeral remote will not operate all of the functions that are needed. Thanks.

Let's check and see if we can find the correct board with the problem. A good place to start is to disconnect the jumper jack 1516 [TV unplugged first]. Now plug in the TV, and power the TV on. If the tubes light up and shut down...then the small signal module is at fault. {this contains convergence ICs} Or it could possibly be the ssb [small signal board] is bad. Leave the set unplugged for a few days and plug in and power up this TV..It may work for a few seconds and go down again. These are two good places to start before you pull the boards out...and they are not easy!

No picture/ power button flashes twice constantly. 2 flash code?
Sorry, but there is no simple answer to your problem.
Bottom line, it needs to be repaired by a qualified technician.
The blinking is a code for what circuit area of the set called for the shutdown.
No matter what it is, there is nothing more you can do.

Let me know chassis number of TV as model number is not so helpful to me in Philips service manuals.

I do have few service manuals of Philips according to chassis numbers.

I can refer you a website where you can buy service manual with model number. Philips model and chassis game is still Puzzle for me.

Try the power supply. Look on the one in your TV for the part number ; mine is PH3501705441. I ordered one from partstore.com and it was less than $60 shipped. Hope this helps, mine works fine now........and I have a 50P8342 chassis PTV 916

You will probably need the service manual for both chassis to straighten that out. I am posting a link where you can purchase one manual that covers the entire series for magnavox PTV 836-PTV 835 it has 2,440 pages.
