Question about Sony VAIO Computers & Internet
My PC is not restarting, it is a blue screen with errors. I tried to reformat using the F12 key, the PC did not come with a disk. There is a Operating System on the hard drive. It is Windows EX Media Center Edition.
You need to state the make and model number. Take the make and model number and search fornthe user manual. There should be instructions for reinstalling the os. There is often a button in the top row you can press that will start the process when the system starts. See if the button is listed on the screen when the system boots. It should say something like press (whatever key your system needs) to enter recovery or something similar. Usually the key would be unique to your system, and likely it would be colored differently from the restvof the keys.

Check your ram. You may have a bad memory module. If you reinstalled your operating system on a different hard drive, then it sounds like it may be your memory. Turn the computer off, remove and reinsert the memory. Turn computer back on. If this does not work. Remove on of the memory modules and see how that works. Then if that doesn't work, remove the other memory module and plug the other one back in. Be sure the memory is seated properly. Always have the power off when doing this.
