SOURCE: Maytag PYE3300AYW Elec Dryer Runs, But No Heat

hello kellygubser,
If you are sure the thermal switch is ok.. have you checked the high temp ( bi metal snap switch) too? Here is a link to the wiring diagram of your dryer. You can see that there are a few other temp switches in circuit of the heating element that would disble it.. Hope this helps

SOURCE: electric dryer wont start

Just replace the thermal fuse for now. You have gotten good use from this machine. But, this is also may be the beginning of the end. Thermal fuses are not expensive either. These things just go out at no uncertain times.

SOURCE: if my thermal fuse is blown; can i replace it; or

God day,
The thermal fuse is a small white skinny bakelite device held on with one screw. Replacing it is very common and is considered an easy and low cost simple repair.
You can check it with an ohm meter for resistance. It should read zero ohms of resistance. If you have no meter, you can remove it and have an appliance parts house test it for you.
It is located behind the rear cover mounted near center toward the bottom.

Have you tried replacing the operating thermastat it's what shuts it off at the right temp and would cause the thermal fuse to go if it is not shuting.off at the right temp. It happens.
Hope this helps.

The control thermistor must be out of range causing the overheating.
The chart for that is found in the service manual.

How to check if Thermal Fuse or Heating element is blown

if the fuse was bad it just wouldn't work at all,it's non resetable,it will be hard to tell what's wrong now that it's working again but if the heat did go out and come back on there's a coil that runs through the heater, this breaks and then no heat but it could make a connection again,i ve found this one time out of 10 years or you could have a loose wire but it will be hard to tell until the heat shuts down again.also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer,it should be cleaned out and blow out the vent line at least once a year.if the heat cuts out again and you need a hand let me know, also check the wires where the cord connects to the block on the back of dryer,if wires are loose this can happen.

I have a Oster microwave Model #OM1201EOVG that I bought from Target on December 19, 2010. It just stopped heating. No matter if it is at 100%, it will not heat up. It has only been used for heating...

You say you bought it in 2010? That was 7 years ago. If you made a typo that's ok. If the unit is still under warranty , Oster will fix it. Otherwise you'll have to locate a replacement magnetron (part that generates microwaves). You may just have a blown fuse . One is for the electronics and another one id for the hi voltage transformer inside. You'll have to take off the cover to access the fuses.

i would try testing the thermal fuse/s first as this is the main factor of fault within these units when you find the blown thermal fuse replace it with the same values as the one blown.

With nothing showing up on the front panel display, I would first look at the power transformer. there is a thermal fuse built into the transformer core, and with your description on what happened, it could have gotten too hot and blown this fuse.

Panasonic Whisper Warm Heater Thermal cutoff. How to reactivate?

I had the same problem and mine was cause by a blown fuse. It's not too hard to fix. Remove the cover by pulling down and squeezing the wire arms on each side. You need a VERY long screwdriver to remove the entire motor/fan/light assembly from the housing (8 screws total). Place the assembly on the floor and look for the fuse on top. The fuse is on the motor, not near the heater portion. It is a ceramic, not glass, cylindrical fuse, 20 amps, 125 volts. This fuse is sold as a microwave oven fuse & costs about 2 bucks at a hardware store. Replace, reinstall, and you're done.

Cusinert blender

I had the same problem and I manaed to fix my Cuisinart SmartPower Duet blender. There are two thermal fuses, one tape attached to each stator winding. Both of mine were blown.

In addition, when the fuses blew, it must have spiked the triac. I had to replace mine. It's the black 3-legged transistor looking device with a small metal heatsink attached to it. This gizmo directly throttles the power to the motor under control of the microprocessor. There are some guides on the internet on how to test it.

Also, the clutch was very hard to remove and needs to be removed to more easily replace the thermal fuses. I clamped down the end of the motor shaft to a bench vise real hard and then I used a 7/8-inch open-end wrench to wedge into the clutch prongs which made it much easier to apply torque. Remember that its screw threads are reversed from normal screws so that it does not unscrew during operation. You have to turn it counter-clockwise to unthread it.

Hope that helps!

No power beyound the touch pannel

I managed to fix my Cuisinart SmartPower Duet blender. I had the same problem, lights and buttons work, but no motor action. There are two thermal fuses, one tape attached to each stator winding. Both of mine were blown.

In addition, when the fuses blew, it must have spiked the triac. I had to replace mine. It's the black 3-legged transistor looking device with a small metal heatsink attached to it. It took about 1-1/2 hours and definitely needs to be done by someone who knows their way around electronics. Hope that helps!
