Koss CS-95 Headset Mic Not Working with MacBook Laptop

Headset works fine (previously with PC), but mic is non functioning with MacBook. In Mac System Preferences, there seems to be no other option to "recognize" the Koss set other than a "Line In" option. Even that doesn't work. Do I need "driver" software loaded for this headset to get my Mac to "recognize" it? Thanks, Robert (MrDad)

SOURCE: I am using a Koss

Windows isn't directing sound to the headset plug. This can be changed under control panel sound.
Sometimes it will asign itself if you turn on the computer with the headset already plugged in.
Also check the settings under all programs --- accessories -- entertainment -- volume control
and make sure the volume isnt too low or muted for the device.

I have this sale problem. I am using a rocketfish micro dongle to connect my LG tone to my PC and I can hear fine. However, when I set the bluetooth mic to default, I only hear these random blips and pings and it shows nothing received in the audio bar.

My recorder isnt working

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. The recording feature of your electronic device isn't working properly? You should try turning the volume up on the microphone so it can pick up your voice clearer when talking. If you still can't playback any recordings, check the volume settings of your device on your computer. This is located in the Control Panel (Windows) and the System Preferences (MAC OS) applications of your computer. Go into your operating system's preferences and increase the microphone volume. You may also need to select your headset device as the default recording device (Windows) or the Output Device for recording (MAC OS). If you want my opinion, I think your headset device is not set as the default recording device. If you don't have a headset as the default recording device or output recording device, you can turn the volume up to the maximum setting and you still won't be able to record anything because the computer has another device (if any microphones are installed in the PC) as its default or output recording device. That's why it's important to check your system preferences for a headset to make sure it has the proper settings. I hope you understand this solution and that you can record audio on your headset. When I plug in my Audio 625 Plantronics to my usb port it shows an error - Device not recognized, please help..

If you are using a Mac computer your Plantronics .Audio headset will not work The microphone plug on the .Audio analog headsets is not compatible with a Mac. It will physically fit into the Mic input jack on a Mac; however, it will not function. Basically, the digital sound card does not recognize the analog signal coming in from the headset.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

Logitec250headset mic not working at all on this pc

Hi, Please uninstall any logitech software version present on your OS - Then please proceed to clean boot. ( ) -> Unplug all the USB devices connected to the computer ( Less keyboard + mouse ) please use corded kbd+mouse if possible rather than a cordless device. -> Go to device manager -> Delete all the USB HOST CONTROLLER -- All of them -- -> The host controller might reinstall them itslef, let the computer handle the reinstallation -> If the computer does not reinstall the host controllers, trigger the detection using the DM function " Scan for new hardware " ( The computer with magnifier icon ) -> Once reinstalled, clean boot -> Reinstall the software if available and/or plug the hardware when needed. -> Should work.
This TB delete the usb ports " memory " means if a device as been previously flagged with error, it will redetect the device without the flag, unless there is some serious issue with the hardware/OS
If after this the issue persist, then I suggest you to call Logitech support to issue a replacement, hardware failures are covered by warranty terms

Is the LifeChat Lx-3000 Compatible with Mac Os X?

I bought the headset recently and on first plug-in --- nothing! But then I realized that I had to open Sound in System Preferences and select them as the output choice. Works fine, though I haven't had a chance to test it out fully. But it works!

Mic not working when headphone plugged in

Try changing the Windows Default Audio devices
  1. Go to control Panel
  2. Sounds and audio devices
  3. The Audio tab
  4. Then change the Sound Recording Device to Logitech Headphone INPUT
Hopefully this will work

Just had the same problem occur on a laptop with same mic. Did the exact same thing yours did, I turned the mic boost on and ran the hardware test three or four times and it finally picked it up. Hope this helps.

Mokrophone is not working

Found the problem... What Apple has is a line-in requires a pre-amp to boost the signal of your mic. A PC likely has a mic-in port.

They're different ports...very similar but they accept different levels of input. Apple likely wants you to use their built-in mic for mic use and the line-in port for line-level audio sources.

Thsi appears to be our solution... Griffin iMic / USB Audio Interface
What a pain.
