How do I change the distributor in a 1995 K1500 Chevrolet with a 5.7L engine.

Put the engine on cylinder #1 manually by turning the crank pulley line up timing marks make sure the key is off and battery is disconnected. If you have a distributor cap check to see the rotor is pointing to terminal 1 on cap(it should be pointing to the front of engine toward the left side as seen from the drivers seat). take off the cap leave the wires in and lay it aside, unplug the wires from the side of distributor base and use a distributor wrench to loosen the single bolt under the large flange that the dist. cap rests on, it is in the in block there is a fork like clamp holding it down. take the bolt all the way out and remove the clamp . the distributor is now ready to come out LIGHTY tap up on it if it is stuck the shaft will turn a little as it comes off the cam gear. there is a slot in the oil pump shaft that has to line up with the end of the dist. shaft it can be tricky to line back up but if you got this far it shouldn't be much of an obstacale . Just hold the dist. and turn the shaft onto the oil pump drive shaft, if by some chance it moved to far you can put a long screwdriver in the hole and move the pump shaft Good Luck

My 1989 Chevrolet 1500 4x4 with a 350 stopped running. Checked the fuel pump changed the rotar cap rotar button and the coil. What else could it be?

Replace the pick up coil in the distributor,they are bad to go out.Also,while you are in there remove the ignition module and have it tested,to make sure it is good.

As much money as you have spent, you could have fixed it and had a lot of beer money left. First thing to check is the KNOCK SENSOR. should be located near the starter.

1995 chevy p/u with 4.3 engine 1500 series.

code 12 is always present in gm motor products. it simply means no tach signal because engine is not running. i would go with the simple first and clean the throttle body real good . that takes care of 99% of idle problems.

Plug wire location on a 1995 gmc 1500 4x4 5.7L. i need location for wires on the distributor

not sure off hand but if you can find the wires over the sparkplugs follow there and they will go to the distributor
