does it do his on the other bands also? Check your heat sinks in the area to see if they are also hot.the hottest one is probably going to be the culprit .Now find out what is on the sink and back step from there until you find out why that sink is getting hot.

I'm repairing the power supply. I replaced T3,T4,Ic1,D24. but the disipator gets hot when I try to disconect a bulb I conected it in series at the input cord, and then connected back with out the...

Voltage readings are normal. I don't know what you mean by dissapator? There are five separate heat sinks on the board. Which is heating? Is this with the load connected? If no load is connected none of the heat sinks should get hot. In regular operation with the fan running they may get warm. If no load and the big one is heating, then one or more of the three terminal regualtors has shorted. If the one with the big diodes near the 70 volt caps is heating, look for shorted surface mounted caps on the bottom of the board near the 70 volt connectors. If the heat sinks with the IGBT switchers are heating, look for a bad gate speedup surface mounted diode. It is unlikely the input diodee heatsink is heating.

Sound stopped coming out from teh tv speakers. i have to run it through my stereo system

Hello, I am John at J. D. Electronics. You have a D4 model. This is caused by a defective spacer under the A / V board. This is not recommended for owner repair, since it involves removal of other PCBs, Sheilds and "spacers" and connectors. On the A / V board ( the one with all the jacks ), is an audio IC that normally runs fairly hot. Therefore, the MFG had to use an aluminum heat sink on the top and bottom of the IC. The problem is that there is a "clay like " spacer pressed between the bottom PCB at the audio IC and an aluminum plate, or heat sink, underneath that sets against the metal back of the LCD panel. Here is what happened; The "spacer " turns into a "sticky goop" causing the whole pcb move towards the Heat Sink under the A / V board. This causes the connections at A / V pcb at the audio IC to come in contact with the bottom aluminum heat sink, thus shorting out the audio IC and then no sound or popping noises. This is common on the D4 and D6 models. We charge about $325 for this repair since it is very time consuming. I have repaired dozens of these sets with this problem. I hope this helps! John

Acer laptop gets very hot inside fan is running but still hot ?

Your heat sink vents may be jammed up with fluff and other debris.

If you're not comfortable removing the bottom pannel and using some canned air to clean out the heat sink fins, I would take it into a repair depot and have the techs there apply a new application of heat sink compound and clean it out for you.

Notebook fan is not running and unit is getting hot

the fan vanes are clogged, this may happen if you have pets or live in a humid region.
take the unit apart and remove the heat sink from the laptop, get some arctic ice silicone from a computer store and apply an amount equal to that of a piece of rice to the processor (after first cleaning of the residue on the heat sink), clean the cooling vanes out and replace the heat sink, put the unit back together and the unit should not overheat again.
The silicone will take a while to solidify to the optimum.

Xbox 360 red lights

The Issue is with the heat sink inside the Xbox 360 when the console gets hot after playing hours of online halo tournaments the heat actually get so hot that the sauder from the pci chips, and the mother board get loos and separate. The way to fix this is take it apart and have it re saudered, or send it back to microsoft, if you do either you need to get a powerflo fan and put it on the back of your console I have had the same 360 for about 2 years and I have never seen my console get hot because the fan pulls all the hot air out and sucks the cooler air in. I hope I could help

Check the leads from the heat sink on the back and my guess is the contacts between the faceplate and the actual head unit are not doing so well. This is a detachable face unit right?
