Grease fittings for spindles

Some cheaper mowers don't have grease zirks for the spindle bearings. If you cleaned off the deck and you can't see them, the only thing to do is remove some shields and keep looking, or check with manufacturer details to see if it even has them. A simple call to a craftsman repair shop should be able to answer that question.

How to remove a keyless chuck from bdf452

If the head of the screw is stripped out to much for a driver to grip and remove it you have two options.
1. Use another drill to drill in the center of the screw with a bit just big enough to remove the head. With the head of the screw off, the chuck can be removed from the spindle. There should be enough of the screw remainin in the spindle that you can grip it with vice grips and remove it.
2. Using a metal cutting wheel on a grinder, you have to cut the end of the chuck off, aiming to cut just under the head of the set screw so you don't damage the spindle. After cutting, let things cool off before trying to remove the rest of the chuck and screw from the spindle.

'97 sentra wipers stop at different places on the glass. Is it the motor that's faulty?

remove both wiper arms, turn off the ignition. Set one arm on the spindle at the desired postion. Test the sweep of the wiper with the ignition on. Check for looseness of the spindles ( wheel boxes ), refit the second wiper arm in the correct position, checking for looseness , if all seems ok retest with the ignition on.

520, 2gb card sounds like the berrings are going out in fan. Only a few months old. Is this a reacuring problem are am I just unlucky?

You can actually remove the fan with the spindle and clean the spindle and the bearing sleeve and apply a thin grease to them and reassemble.

Remove the fan from the heatsink if it's attatched to one.
Remove the label there should be a little split washer holding the spindle in the bearing sleeve. It is removable with a thin blade. Then push the spindle and fan out of the bearing sleeve with something about the same diameter as the spindle.

Clean and re-grease. Push the fan back in, refit the split washer push it in until it clicks or so you know it's sitting in the grove on the spindle. Wipe excess grease away so it's clean to replace the label on to. You don't need the label really, a small piece of plastic / insulation tape will do.
Fit fan to heatsink, Done.

Front Wheel Bearingn replacement on a 2002 Saturn l300 Wagon

You need to start by jacking up the front of the vehicle and putting it on stands. Once this is done, you can remove the wheel in question. After the wheel is off, remove the brake calipers, then the brake pads, then remove the brake rotor. Now on some vehicles, you have to have a certain sized socket to remove the axle nut. If you don't have this proper size, you can rent it from your local Napa store. So then you remove the axle nut and cotter pin if one exists. Remove both of the upper and lower ball joints. Doing this will give you free swing of the spindle arm, which then give you access to remove the axle from it. Once you have the axle out, you can remove the spindle arm, and then you must have the bearings pressed out and the new ones back in by a shop. Typically, they don't charge more than a few dollars a piece to have this done. Anyone with a arbor press can do this.
Otherwise, if you don't want to go through this hassle of removing all of these items and trying to remember where they went. You could always have your mechanic buddy do it for you.

How to remove cv joint in 1999 grandam

Remove the tire . remove the tie rod from the spindle. To get the tie rod out of the spindle take a hammer and hit the part only that is holding the tie rod it will pop loose after a few blows. remove the bracket and caliper, spread the caliper a little so it will let loose of the rotor. remove the rotor. Remove the nut for the cv axle. remove the bolts hold the strut to the spindle. separate the two. You may have to hit the axle end to get it loose from the spindle. Now you have to muscle the axle out of the spindle. turn the spindle and start pushing or pulling the axle out, it's a pain but it will come out. Once you have it out of the spindle you will have to pry it out of the transmission. It is held in by a metal oring that contracts to let it out. For some reason the passenger side always seems harder to get out than the drivers side. But they do come out. When putting in the new one make sure that it is all the way in the transmission. If you have to hit the new one use a block of wood against the threads. You don't want to damage them. This seems to be a lot, but It usually takes about an hour.

How to change front hub assembly on 05 mustang

Remove tire/wheel. (5 nuts)
Seperate the brake pads just a little; pry apart with a screw driver. Easier to remove and replace later.
Remove caliper/brake assembly (2 bolts). Do NOT remove brake line.
Remove brake rotor (there may be a retainer clip or two that needs to be removed and discarded.
Remove black center cap (after reading warning on the cap).
Remove large spindle nut.
Slide bearing/hub assembly off the spindle. (If stuck, you may have to tap it with a hammer. It's a straight smooth shaft.

Reassemble in reverse order.
Tighten the nut to the correct torque spec. I don't know what it is, but it's pretty high... 200ft-lbs? The torque is important because it sets the preload on the bearing balls and races. Too low or torque will cause early bearing failure.

Bearing/hub looks like this:

Look under the front between the wheels at the tie rod that connects the two wheels. It is probably bent up and should be straight. If it's bent, remove it a straighten it.
