SOURCE: wine cooler doesn't cool properly

Few things to check here. If the compressor is not running then the problem may be a bad thermostat or the compressor start device (ptc starter). Most common would be the thermostat on wine coolers. Also need to check if the fan is running. If everything is running then you have a sealed system problem. If the fan is the only thing that is not running that will cause a no cool situation.

SOURCE: Wine cooler gets too cold (freezes)

Check your thermostat setting, if the setting is ok then something wrong with your thermostat control.

SOURCE: wine cooler noise

I wrote up a blog entry for a minor modification we made to our Danby wine refrigerator to silence noise from the upper fan:

http://www.adrianmccarthy.com/blog/?p=79

You can find quieter versions of the fan with the same specs at big computer parts stores (for the PC builders who want quiet computers). The one we got cost less than $20. We also added rubber spacers so that the fan vibration isn't amplified by back panel of the fridge (which otherwise acts like a soundboard). Made a huge difference.

Even with the fix, though, I wouldn't ever recommend the Danby models. Their noisy, and we've had multiple breakdowns in five years. The only authorized repair shop in our area has lousy customer service and high prices.

SOURCE: Noisy Wine Fridge

The problem is likely with one of the two fans. A new fan is available from Danby (1-800-263-2629). My noisy fan is the condensor fan located at the bottom rear of the device. After removing the cooler from under the cabinet, the source of the noise was obvious. You will need to tell them whether it is the upper fan or lower fan. Leave the cooler upright for a few hours before you plug it in so that you do not damage the condenser. Price for the fan from Danby is $20.15 including shipping. Motor in wine frige is noisy???why

That motor is an evaporator fan motor. That noise occurs when the bushes in the motor start to wear. The motor is not in effect repairable but has to be replaced. Normally a 9 watt evaporator fan motor is installed into those wine coolers.

Danby Silhouette DWC513BLS lower back fan noise.

Called Danby customer service. Requested repleacement part of lower fan unit. Located at bottom right on back of unit. Part was $6.68 plus shipping. Less than $10 total. At my door in 3 days. Plug and play piece that was easy to change. A very cheap fix and I hate to think what a service call would have been. Danby ph # is 800-263-2629.,
