Question about Amana 24 in. ADW862EAS Dishwasher
Yesterday night, I smelled burning plastic while running the dishwasher. I checked inside and no dishes were melted, so I let the run complete. After emptying the dishwasher, I pulled it out from under the counter to check the outlet (no melting there) and the machine itself. Under the padded wrap, I see several black panels glued on to the dishwasher - most of these are flat, but a few are warped or bubbling. I believe that this was the culprit, but it's not clear to me what purpose these serve OR if the fact that they are melting is a bad sign or just a fact of life with an 11-year-old dishwasher. Has anyone dealt with the same issue?
