I have a kenmore frontloading washer, during the spin cycle a noise like grinding can be heard, grinding can also be heard when turning drum by hand...help

its the drum bearings that support the inner drum, you need to replace these bearings, the problem with this is it was manufactured by frigidaire for kenmore and you cant just buy the inner bearing and lip seal as it comes with the outer rear half of the outer.tub where as with maytag neptune or whirlpool duet you can drive these bearin gs out and re-use the tub half, but you can't buy just the bearings and seal for a frigidaire front loader

Loud noise during spin cycle kenmore model # w110.4770 front loader

When the rear bearing goes the best thing to do is shop for a replacement.

The rear bearing is not an economical repair to make and will cost more then the replacement with a similar new washer.

The bearing is built into the rear half of the tub and the entire washer must be torn down to replace it.

My clothings get grease like stains sfter I wash them with Kenmore washer.

Don't know if this is a front or top loader since you did not supply the model number. But if the stains are grease, it could only mean that the bearing seal has been compromised. Water is getting into the bearings and the bearing grease is what is on your clothes. You need to have the bearing and the seal replaced on your machine.

It is not to bad on a top loader in terms of cost to repair. But, if you have a front loader, that is a different story, since the entire machine needs to be torn apart to get to the bearings and the replacement parts and labor can be as much as a new washer. In either case, get a few estimates before deciding whether to repair or replace the washer. Hope this helps you.

Top part of agitator does not rotate (bottom part does)What's the fix? Can I do it myself? Should I get a repair service?

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured top loader (such as Kenmore), the problem may be a worn agitator cam assembly, worn agitator dogs, loose agitator bolt, or all of the above. The following link explains what agitator dogs are and how to access them:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608577-replacing_agitator_dogs

Whirlpool manufactured washers use a split agitator design. The top half is known as the "auger, while the lower half is the agitator. Between the two pieces is a cam assembly, with small teflon teeth known as "dogs". There's also an agitator bolt that holds the entire assembly to the center post.

If the auger (top half of the agitator) is slipping, I would suspect the dogs or cam assembly need to be replaced. The part number for the dogs is included in the link I provided. For a little more you can purchase the entire cam assembly which includes the dogs, the cam, the cam seal and thrust bearing.

If the entire agitator appears loose or slipping, check the agitator bolt to ensure it is tight. DO NOT overtighten as this can restrict movement of the agitator or damage it. Tighten until snug.

Replacement parts can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need. If you do not wish to order parts on line, use the part numbers from the Sears website and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. The agitator parts are commonly sold as part of their in-store inventory.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER (located on a nameplate along the wash tub rim under the lid) and let me know. I hope this helps you. NOTE: This is a very easy and inexpensive repair that does not require the assistance of a repairman. The average cost for the entire cam replacement kit is $15.
