Question about Vacuums

Wertheim 5030: need help with assembly - service manual or diagram would be great.?

Have been given a Wertheim 5030 vac to fix for a friend which is currently in pieces. I have worked out how most of it goes back together but am stuck regarding how the small tubes which detect any overheating connect into the senors on top of the control board. Was hoping maybe someone has a service manual with a diagram showing how the vacuum cleaner fits together? Also, there are two pieces of foam material, one which appears to wrap around the metal motor body, but the other larger piece I can only assume goes around the outside of the plastic motor housing -- is this correct? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

SOURCE: Kirby Belt Lifter Assembly

I have tried to get a parts breakdown for your vacuum cleaner with no success. The way that then washers should go is the flat smotth metal washer on the inside followed by the fibre washer and the wavy washer on the outside. The waves are used to bite into the plastic so it cannot work loose.

Install upper control rod

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

To attach the upper handle to your Hoover Steam Vac remove the clean solution tank (upper tank) from the deep cleaner. Then, attach the upper handle to the lower handle by pushing the upper handle down onto lower one. Use the provided bolts to secure the handles. Push the bolts into the accompanying holes on the front of handle. If the bolts do not go through the holes easily, your handle is not pushed completely down. When the handle sections are completely together, squeeze the trigger on the upper handle to snap the trigger rod into place.

If you require further help with your assembly, you can find a step-by-step manual at: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/f5865900-hoover-parts-steam+vac-manual

VACUUM - 1. How to open up a Wertheim 5030 to get to the cord retractor 2. How to fix the retractor so that it retracts the cord.

Hi to do this you will have to somehow find a service manual, this will give detailed instructions on why and how. I have searched for one however i was unable to find any. Perhaps a direct plea to the manufacturer may help?

In any event, usually the is NO "Fixing" of the retractor, most often, the mount at the rear attachment of the coiled spring, brakes and this stops it retracting.

The fix is to replace the entire recoiler assembly. This is pretty simple job, if one can obtain the parts.

However my professional advise is to take it to a vacuum repair shop, (NB: Only take it to a repair shop that deals in YOUR brand) and ask for a "Quote" for the repair, I am sure it will be modest indeed. You see this is just such a common thing that they fix all the time.

My Hoover Steam Vac Ve brushes stop working

Hi There,

You'll need to try and diagnosis what is causing the brushes to stop spinning first. A lot of the times this can just be caused by debris stuck in the brushes. I have written a in-depth repair solution on how to diagnosis the brush problem here:

http://www.fixya.com/support/t4286338-hooverspin_scrub_brushes_always_stop

If it just needed to be cleaned, and this fixed your problem, great! If not however, and you need to replace the turbine assembly inside, here's another repair solution that I've written that explains step by step how to replace the turbine assembly:

If you need further help, or have any specific questions, please just use the comment field here on the Fixya repair page, and I'll be more then happy to help you, and answer any questions that you may have.

If you found this repair helpful, it would be greatly appreciated if you could send some feedback and/ or rate the repair helpful by clicking on the 4 thumbs up icons.

I need a manual for ridgid wet/dry vacs model #wd16500

Hello,

I was unable to find the model WD16500 instruction manual anywhere online. In fact I did even find a link to that products owners manual, but when I clicked through the page no longer exists on Ridgid's site. I was able to find the parts diagram for the WD16500, and the instruction manual for the WD16600 which is also a 16 Gallon Detach Wet/Dry Vac, also with a detachable blower, and the model that even replaced the WD16500.

I also left you the number to Ridgid if you'd like to contact them, they may be able to mail you a paper copy of the instruction booklet.

I hope this helps you:

Instruction Manual:
http://www.ridgidparts.com/pdf/WD16600.pdf

Parts Diagram:
http://www.ridgidparts.com/cgi-bin/etcTable?showTable=1&table=WD16500-Figure1&image=Vac

Phone Number for the Ridgid Company:
1-800-4-RIDGID

If this was helpful, please be so kind to rate my answer as helpful, this is what keeps me coming back to Fixya to help people with their vacuum related questions. Thanks alot, I really do appreciate it.

My wertheim 6030 is overheating I have changed the bag and filter even though there was no indication this was needed now it wont turn back on

Have you removed the bottom of the vac to be sure there is no obstructions? Check the intake area for an obstruction. Also look around the motor for vents. Are they clear? Most new vacs have a reset button. This will typically reset the motor. If none of this helps try reinstalling the filter and bag. I am not familiar with this model but most of this should apply.

Vacuum won't switch on;got it apart;cord ok;need wiring diagram

Its a great idea to write on paper how its connected . So it helps with dis assembly & reassembly . I tried a Internet search . Looks like it'd cost money for a service manual. Though. I found a Kirby Spares Website that could help. Although it doesnt have Document downloads with repair help. There are spares & there is a telephone number for an engineer available during office hours. That you could ask for repair help. With wiring connections for your Kirby G3.

http://kirby-owners-club-shop.com/faqs.htm

The Engineers Telephone Number is 0845 388 9301

I repaired my Parents Kirby Heritage some while ago. With a new set of Brushes. Bulb Repair.

They are a Great Machine. Bit Expensive. Though Tough & Well Made !

A Wheel or disk has come off of the motor. I would like to get a copy of the user manual to see if I can determine where it came off of. This Genie Shop Vac was given to us from my father-in-law.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You can always check with the manufacturer Shop Vac to get an owner’s manual for the older Genie Shop Vac would be @ the Shop Vac Website and or Customer Service of which I will give you @ the bottom of the response. Other wise check with your local vac dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
