Kodak i260 problem

A thin line appears periodically down the right hand side of my white documents. I have cleaned, etc. to no avail. How do I correct this problem? Is it a setting issue?

Re: Kodak i260 problem

Is the image on the front or rear image?
remove the image guides and clean with soft lint free cloth in a longitudinal manner.
Recalibrate scanner using clean calibration sheet.
If line still persists remove back cover and slide out mirror/camera assembly. use canned compressed air to clean mirrors and finally the camera lens.

Re: Kodak i260 problem

A line appears if a dust particle on the scanner glass is scanned continuously. Clena the galss with Isopropyl alcohol, dont use any solvent. If the line persists even after this, there could be some sensor problem. If accidentally a paper with a staple pin is inserted, the pin can cause scratch and a line will appear.

Either the papers are sticky or there may be a stapler. Remove the stapler pins. This can happen if the papers were bound together, the small notches can imitate the stapler pin! Fan the documents and try again.

Line on Scanned Documents

There is a spot on the thin strip of glass that sits next to the large scanner glass. Because you are moving the paper when using the feeder, a spot appears as a line. Shining a flashlight on the glass can help you locate it. You can scrape it off with a finger nail or clean it with a damp cloth.
