Kodak i260 problem

A thin line appears periodically down the right hand side of my white documents. I have cleaned, etc. to no avail. How do I correct this problem? Is it a setting issue?

We have a i260 that inserts a stay line down the forms that are being scanned. There does not appear to be a pattern to the line, but it adds data to the froms that does not exist quite often. Does anyone know how the line gets inserted and how to get rid of it??

    Thanks,

We have the same problemw with the Kodak I260 scanner. 2 veritcal lines are formed on the back page only. Have cleaned the imaging guide & did not see any scratches on it. The lines don't appear to be lined up with a roller and they are symetrical.

Some added information to get to the mirror for the back copy in the top section of the scanner. You will need to remove 4 screws. To get to all of the screws you will need to first open up the scanner to get to bottom of the top half of the scanner. One screw wll be under the top cover, at the very top, on the Right hand side of the scanner near the wire tape assembly. 2 of the screws will be at the bottom of the top section by the hairs at the interesection of the top and bottom of the scanner. To get to the last screw you will need to pul out the Separator Module in the center. The screw will be behind it. To put put back the Separator Module you just snap it back in. You may have problem with a large screwdriver, in that case use a small one blade screwdriver. Good Luck.

Is the image on the front or rear image?
anways-
remove the image guides and clean with soft lint free cloth in a longitudinal manner.
Recalibrate scanner using clean calibration sheet.
If line still persists remove back cover and slide out mirror/camera assembly. use canned compressed air to clean mirrors and finally the camera lens.

A line appears if a dust particle on the scanner glass is scanned continuously. Clena the galss with Isopropyl alcohol, dont use any solvent. If the line persists even after this, there could be some sensor problem. If accidentally a paper with a staple pin is inserted, the pin can cause scratch and a line will appear.

I have a thin white line down one side of the print. i have cleaned each rolling feeder and also the thermal head. but still the white line is there.

I have noticed this with many printers, and usually the problem is the Drum Unit. Once the drum has become worn out, you will start to see lines through your documents. However this generally dont happen to the drums unless the machine has had alot of use.
I hope this helps you,

Nico

Kodak i260

Either the papers are sticky or there may be a stapler. Remove the stapler pins. This can happen if the papers were bound together, the small notches can imitate the stapler pin! Fan the documents and try again.
