Harman Kardon Soundsticks III - system turns on but no sound comes out

Just moved my speakers back from my living room to my bedroom - They've been working without any issues for over a year now, and suddenly no sound comes out of them. The subwoofer still lights up when turned on. I discovered that if I turn the system off and then on again, the sound comes through the speakers very very faintly (I have to press them up against my ears to hear it), and as soon as I touch the volume control buttons, up OR down, they go completely silent. Any idea what could be causing this?

Harman Kardon SoundSticks II Computer Speakers

It seems that the power supply section of your speaker systen has the fault. Check the fuse inside it. If it found blown out, never replace an other fuse in place. Check the power supply circuit board for any short circuited components in it, before replacing an other fuse.

One of the transducers in my Harman Kardon Soundsticks III is loose. How can I reattach in the tube?

HI, the best way is to use a 4 1/2" long nose plier. 1. Insert the plier in to the center hole of the satellite's transducer that has come loose (small round speaker that comes in a set of four inside the clear tube) 2. Gently pull until the transducer is in position (edges aligned, wires not tangled in the rear) 3. Give a thorough pull until the transducer is flush against the tube housing (make sure not to clasp the point on the transducer's grill to roughly inorder to minimize damage to the surface) 4. Enjoy P.S. I went to the hardware store and purchased the pliers for $3.99 if you don't already have a pair handy.

Garbled sound

Your Codec is damaged. Reload your drivers for your sound card. First uninstall the old ones. Moving your non working speakers and they play fine says they are good. I have a problem that you have new speakers and the problem went away. Drivers do not care what speakers are on the other end. It only produces output. Now that your second pair is working correctly, put back the Harmons and see if the problem comes back

Speakers not listed in sound output options

I would try un-installing the driver/ application that controls the speakers and re-instaling.
