Question about Peg Perego John Deere Farm Tractor and Trailer
Put brand new battery in and had power. The tractor would go forward but would not shift into reverse. Took shifter assembly out of tractor floor and could press switch down and it would go into reverse. put shifter back in to floor and secured it and tried again. Nothing at all. I again removed and checked the wires making sure all were connected and not being pinched. Put back together and only reverse / What do I look for? Thanks

Check to make sure that the cables are not binding when mounted causing them to break connection

SOURCE: gator will only drive in reverse
I would replace the reverse switch as seen in here http://www.shopjandl.com/mepu0003.html and also the high low switch for this peg perego gator.
Sometimes the high/low switch will cause it to not go in reverse, so I would replace both switches in the shifter just to make sure.
They are really easy to replace. You can call these guys http://www.shopjandl.com/.
They know what they are talking about because they sell and repair them.

I would replace the high/low switch and the reverse switch.
I had the same problem of it not going forward, but I just replaced the high/low switch. It turns out 1 month later I had to replace the reverse switch.
Here is the link to the site that I found my switches on.
Hope this helps

For this Peg Perego Razor model, some of them have a lever that slips over the foot pedal to keep it from going in reverse for safety reasons.
I would check the foot pedal and see if it has one.
Let me know what you find.

yes, very common. probably the thermal breaker under the shifter. you can replace it with a 40 amp fuse or bypass it. dont worry its safe to bypass b/c there is a 30 amp fuse on the battery also.

SOURCE: gator wont go
No, just the shifter. Just to check you can exchange the red and blue wires under the pedal(just for a second or so, do not do this permanently) to see if you get power to the wheels, if so then yes it is Definitely only the shifter, but I am still pretty sure it is just the shifter. you can also call Peg Perego Tech support which is excellent and they can help you too 1800-728-2108 and parts can be priced and found at www.mypegperegoparts.com
