Question about LG Heating & Cooling
I have a few different brands of ac units in my apartment.i have to have them run almost 24/7 because my dogs have thick coats and are always super hot.two units are really old and one is maybe 5 years old if that.they blow out air and everything kind of cold but not like it used to.in the past I would just throw out the unit.now that my wedding is around the corner can I do anything to make the air colder?
Dirt and dust on an evaporator coil is like putting a sleve on a beer. It insulates the coil so that when the air passes through it it can not pick up as much cooling OR ACTUALLY transfer as much heat. Chances are this is why your units are not cooling like they once were. Clean the coils with a pump sprayer with water with a mild detergent, being sure to rinse well.

U do not have control over the temperature of the air; you can control how long the compressor operates with the thermostat. A longer running time equates to a cooler room.
Clean condenser out to maximize efficiency and cooling.

SOURCE: Not cold air cool air?
Check your air filter. if its ok call the guy who installed it and have him fix the leak. It prob is a bad weld joint. Check the joints on the copper tubing inside at the coil and outside at the a/c and feel around and see if there is oil leaking from the joint. If not you may have a leak in a coil or on the txv inside on the coil.

When the unit is running, go outside and put your hand near the condenser fins, this air that comes out should be slightly warmer than the ambient temp. If it is not you will need to take the unit out of the window and out of its outer case and clean the condenser fins from the inside, this is no easy task as it is very hard to reach. You will want to get a small (toothbrushed sized) brass bristled brush with a long handle. Make sure the evaporator coil (in the front) recieves the same attention and wash the mesh filter that goes in front of the evaporator. Re- assemble and enjoy the cold air.
