I have a 50' screen Sony Wega Lcd Tv. It has a blue color on the left side of the screen. It looks like a liquid is falling down behind the screen. It is also leaving behind a paused menu on my games from my ps3. How do I fix it??
I have a blue pattern, more like a irregular shaped extra blue intensity in the middle of the screen. It is approximately 20% of the screen and just off center. Bulb has been recently replaced. Unit had been working perfectly, except for a bulb replacement for the last 5 years.
I see reports of blue stars, this seems different. I did not touch bulb surface and blew off the dust in the housing area with an "electronics" dust spray...just air without moisture.
Is this a part that user replaceable?

Thats caused by a bad optical block. The cost of that repair will almost always be greater than replacing the TV.Thats a very common issue with alot of Sony DLP models which suffered that optical block issue with the blobs of color usually blue or green
Your tv is an LCD projection one - in which the image is generated by 3 small LCD screens. The blue dots are pixels from the blue LCD that are dead - always fully open. The only fix is to replace the LCD panel and that is going to cost you around $300.
Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. You can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/SONY-1-788-015-12-p/1178732.htm?Click=48173 Have a blessed one!
